TW: Pedophilia

Teenagers are rarely taught the reason why they can't consent to sex with adults.

And that's because teaching them that would completely unravel our coercion-based society.

It can be difficult to explain in detail the exact reason and all the specifics in a way that they will understand. But the simplest way to phrase it is that in some cases, even when someone agrees to something and even when they appear enthusiastic about it, there's too much of a power imbalance that it's no different than forcing them. Also, having power and being abusive doesn't require a conscious expectation to be obeyed.

Imagine a world in which every teenager understood that and was easily able to call out anyone who tried to convince them otherwise.

They'd know that there's no such thing as an employee consenting to working for a poverty wage, working in unsafe conditions, working long hours, or working without taking breaks. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to paying a bank overdraft fee. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to student loan debt. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to medical bills. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to generating profit for banks or landlords in order to have a place to live and being evicted or foreclosed when you lose your source of income. They'd know that there's no such thing as consenting to a police search. They'd know that there's no such thing as a child who's okay with their parents spanking them. They'd know that being dependent on someone does not mean that you can never criticize them. They'd know that if it's considered abusive to simply play along when someone obeys, then it has to be much more abusive to actively expect to be obeyed, which many adults do to them.

And people who benefit from a society based on coercion masquerading as freedom wouldn't like that.

So instead, teenagers are taught something dismissive. They're taught that what they want doesn't matter. They're taught that they're too young to know what love is. They're taught "it's the law". They're taught things that are insulting to their intelligence, which they'll naturally rebel against.

Sorry, weather's been throwing baseballs at my roof and the power went out.

NEW musician species chibi collection.

thinking about how fucking wild we must seem to single-celled aliens. you're telling me you're a single creature made up of billions of tiny tiny organisms, all perfectly communicating and working together, constantly dying and reproducing? so right now youre made of a completely new set of tiny creatures than before???? are you even the same creature???? are you even one creature????????????

ok. here are my pitches for the beatles biopics

john: directed by david lynch. focused on the conflict between celebrity, identity and "real" life. the typical worms and maggots wriggling under the picture perfect roses type shit. mulholland drive levels of psychosexual tension + a single but extremely graphic mclennon sex scene. kyle maclachlan plays george. masturbation scenes are mandatory

paul: directed by luca guadagnino. oriented around themes of loss and desire - very bones and all but with the cut throat ferocity of suspiria combined with the expressions of sensuality in i am love. tilda swinton plays paul and it makes no sense but it works perfectly. mclennon sexual tension is mandatory but doesnt need to be acted upon in any graphic way. demands vivid colour palette.

george: directed by david cronenberg. interested in how celebrity demands the objectification of the body. cancer is a reoccuring metaphor. bob and george are the movie's central relationship. religion (hare krishna) is used as a way to further elaborate on the whole body horror thing idk i lost my train of thought

What Strength Really Means 💪

Hey everyone, my name is Abdelmajed. I don’t usually talk much about myself, but today, I want to share a little piece of my story.

I was born and raised in Gaza, a place that has always been my home 🏡. I grew up surrounded by my family, my friends, and the streets that I knew like the back of my hand. Life wasn’t always easy, but we had love, laughter, and dreams. I used to think that no matter what happened, home would always be here. But life has a way of changing things in ways we never expect.

Over the past months, everything I once knew has disappeared. The streets that were once filled with children playing are now silent. The houses that held so many memories are now just rubble. And the people I loved—some of them are gone forever. 💔

Anonymous asked:

What's That One Fic?

oh it's the one called "hello it's me" that now i don't know if it's actually legendarily weird or if i just live in a bubble but it's inextricably burned into my brain now and feels like it should be from like 2014. lou and john get up to some rather freaky shit and i can't tell how much of a joke it's supposed to be.

it's really ridiculous that That One VU Fic is only from 2023 if you think about it it feels like it should be much older

THE PAIN IS UNBEARABLE

They killed the children in the early morning of the Eid

Instead of wearing new clothes for Eid, children have been wrapped in shrouds, making it the last thing they will ever wear in their lives.

hi, a lot of you need a perspective reset

  • the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years
  • taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult
  • at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)
  • 'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65
  • it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age
  • it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.
  • you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.
  • young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!
  • there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big

I am saddened, hurt, and hopeless to be deactivating my main account today due to reports from supporters of this holocaust. (We are living through a war in Gaza and on Tumblr.) I feel like I have lost my homeland all over again. I hope you will retweet my posts and engage with me so I can reach my followers again. Don't ignore us. I don't want to die a number. I want to leave a mark for my family.

@wolfertinger666 I beg you to talk only about me.

Sami asked me to create a post on Tumblr because he is in dire need of help from everyone here on Tumblr, whether it be a donation, a share, or a like. His family and children are in real danger because of the unjust war on Gaza. Don't forget them. You can change the painful reality of Sami and his innocent children's lives.

Here's the story:

i always recommend 'how to hide an empire' by daniel immerwahr to usamericans as an intro to imperialism because of how it looks at the history of the us empire and its peripheries in a way that is pretty accessible to newcomers of the subject. if i recall correctly it touches on the history of us involvement in puerto rico, mexico, the philippines, the pacific islands incl hawaii, alaska, and chattel slavery as the construction of an internal colony, as well as on manifest destiny and indigenous genocide on the mainland. it provides a solid overview and you can choose to delve into further research from there

i want to share some fundraisers i've found on instagram that aren't getting much traction. i'll try to keep the descriptions brief, but please choose one or several of these families to support if you can and at the very least reblog this.

  • eman is a young mother who lost her firstborn, kenan, in the bombing during the early stages of the genocide. she now has a four month old infant, rima, who is suffering from a chest infection. she needs to provide medical treatment as well as food so rima is able to recover. sick babies are some of the most vulnerable people in gaza. (€26,568 / €50,000 - 53%)
  • qusay's mother was injured and urgently needs medical treatment. they also need to provide food, water and other basic necessities. remember the occupation is deliberately blocking food into the gaza strip so more necessary items have become unavailable or extraordinarily expensive. ($1,742 / $2,400 - 73%)
  • ahmed is 26 years old, his family was displaced from their home in rafah for most of the genocide, and they recently returned to find their house completely destroyed. his family includes small children. (£4,507 / £20,000 - 23%)
  • eman is a very talented 19 year old artist. she had dreams of studying architecture in university before the genocide began. after months of displacement, she recently found out her house was destroyed. she needs funds to be able to continue her studies, further her education and rebuild her future. she hasn't received any donations to her campaign in 11 days. (kr100,120 NOK / kr376,477 - 27%)
