I think any marriage needs its running jokes, ones that you can repeat with variations, or make callbacks too.

One of my favorite bits is describing the romcoms I watch to my wife as though I have never heard of a narrative in my life.

"She runs a small plane company, and he's from a major airline trying to shut her down, so it's really anyone's guess what's going to happen."

"Get this, he's a stuffy office dork and she's a free spirit, and they end up stuck in the same cabin on a cruise. Sounds like a disaster, right?"

"They've decided to pair up and be each other's plus one at a series of weddings to feel less pathetic, but it's not like they like each other or anything."

So I told my wife that I hoped she would still enjoy me doing this bit forty years from now, and she smiled and held my hand and said that she'd never liked it, not even the first time.

ok fine maybe i DID come back wrong. what are you going to do about it. kill me? put me back in the ground? after all this effort? all this pain and suffering only to find out bringing me back wasn't worth it after all? you worked so hard. are you going to waste all of that just because im not what you wanted? just because i belong only to myself? are you going to let me pick out my own coffin

Here’s a great way to fuck with people who wear clothes/say shit like stop killing babies.

Agree with them. Tell them that you agree. The children being shot in schools are just babies and we need to protect them at all costs and restrict automatic weapons.

Then watch them get upset and freak out. And then walk away with your iced coffee and purple hair.

I agree lets arm security guards in schools. Which has been proven to stop shootings.

Man, it's a good thing, then, that automatic weapons have been heavily restricted for going on half a century now.

so funny that humans imagined a creature that is like a human but bigger and called it a “giant”. that’s such an uncreative name. that’s just an adjective. “it’s a giant!” “a giant what?!” “a giant… um. yeah. giant.”

oh my god,,,, the word was originally used for the creature and not as an adjective,,,,, that’s even funnier *guy seeing something huge* wow! that’s roughly the size of one of those big creatures wouldn’t you say?

official linguistics post

If you’re upset that goods imported from other countries might be more expensive than goods made locally, I can’t help you.

The reason certain goods aren’t made here in America is that we have been relying on other countries’ slave labor and complete disregard for safety and the environment to make cheap goods.

Imagine thinking that’s a sustainable situation…

The reason certain goods aren’t made in America is that we can’t produce them here. Most tropical fruits, for instance. Things like coffee are very difficult to produce here. The US is not a limitless source of resources.

We have free trade agreements with many countries that these tariffs are ignoring. It’s very sad to me that my country is not true to its word.

Many of these countries are now going to turn to America’s enemies for trade now. We are driving our allies to our enemies, trashing our own economy in the process, and for what? To isolate ourselves? To make poor countries even poorer?

UM GUYS. I JUST NOTICED A CRAZY ISSUE W THE TUMBLR UPDATE.

YOU CAN SEE THE ICONS OF ANONS SOMETIMES.

The way I was able to recognize several anons in one of my inboxes bc of this error. Oh my god. Guys. This isn’t supposed to happen.

Weighing in to say:

YES, I SEE THIS ON MOBILE. HOWEVER I DO **NOT** THINK IT'S SHOWING THE ANON'S REAL IDENTITY.

The profile pictures I see next to anon asks are profile pictures that belong to other, non-anon asks in my ask box also. Some info

  • there are 14 asks in my inbox from the last ~5 days
  • 9 anons, 5 logged in users
  • ALL 14 show pfps, including the 9 anons
  • ALL THE SHOWN PROFILE PICTURES BELONG TO THE 5 LOGGED IN USERS

I think the bug is the inbox INCORRECTLY attributing anons to neighboring, logged-in asks.

Which is still a bad bug! Considering it makes it look like a long-time follower of mine sent me a spam ask.

And is worse if, say, one of these was anon hate.

But it's NOT the anon's real identity. It's a neighboring ask asker's identity

So if you have anon hate in your inbox that looks like it's attributed to your dear friend, who sends you lovely asks all the time, it was Not them.

CONFIRMED THE BUG IS INCORRECT ATTRIBUTION.

Thanks @thepatchycat for being a test subject. As you can see the icon being attributed to this ask is NOT the patchy cat

The pictured icon belongs to @watchingforcomets who sent me a nice ask about nail polish yesterday which I have not yet answered!
