king of the horseflies is post-games, but in order to establish my unexplored lore from the 50th, i have to... actually write about the 50th. hay's experience would be less focused on the games themselves, and more about haymitch + the people around him. because obviously, suzanne collins can't establish nor stick to her canon lore.

Do you think people were ever squatting in the Victor's Village in District 12, but also other Districts that had not produced as many victors?

We know they needed to be at least actively connected to the grid, because Katniss comments that the houses are sometimes used by Capitol personnel.

So what happens during a particularly cold winter? Wouldn't some Seam people come together and huddle in those homes? Wouldn't they try the hot baths for once in their lives? Maybe they never dared to do as much considering most barely got past the fence, but some must have tried? And then tried some more?

#i mean#if people were in twelve and could be punished by death simply for hunting outside animals#what makes anyone be brave enough to sully the homes of victors?#people who fought through death to get to where they ended up living in the end#i think the victor's villages in several districts would be higly surveilled#so who knows

also someday i'll talk more eloquently about how plutarch and coin were basically grooming gale into becoming the violent radical he was by the end of mockingjay and how he was used by them not only to better force katniss into the role of the mockingjay but also to use his own trauma as nothing more than propaganda material

"Go to hell" is basic and overused. "I hope the prequel novel narrating your favourite character's backstory retcons his personality, motivations, character arc, and everything you ever loved about him, to the point he is no longer recognisable" is way scarier. It is definitely possible. And it is happening to me right now.

Perhaps it's just because I'm a short woman who happens to enjoy both frilly dresses and sex, but I get so mad when people say Ariana grande or Sabrina carpenter are encouraging pedos by uh .... being short, enjoying cute things, and enjoying sex. I'm sorry some adult women are very cute and hot and like sex. And it literally has nothing to do with children. The people accusing them of being creeps are the ones inserting children into the discussion at all. (hyumjim voice) And I'm NOT supposed to be creeped out by that???

⇨ often, they're likely to argue about morals or philosophy. maybe even little nitpicking stuff like errands. solving arguments is simply a matter of giving each other time to cool off and slowly reintegrate into each other's company, a bit like cats.

⇨ i believe that both haymitch and beetee are very much sweater people, so very likely they'd match sweaters in different colors. haymitch tends to go for neutral colors such as browns, deep greens, navy. beetee would go for the same 3 colors in rotation, but sometimes they'd wear each others clothes.

7. HOW DID THEY ACT WITH ONE ANOTHER DURING THE CRUSHING STAGE?

⇨ either extremely avoidant or extremely attached. on both sides, of course!

⇨ canonically, it's in mockingjay when haymitch mentions staying behind with beetee because they're old (and Not attractive victors.)

⇨ an ex mutual, who was really into beetee and had put me on. at least in their absence i can say that i've promoted the ship more than they ever did..
