Holiness is always like this: God’s endurance in the middle of our refusal of him, his capacity to meet every refusal with a gift of himself.

may you all have a blessed lent

I like to think (and
the sooner the better!)
of a cybernetic meadow
where mammals and computers
live together in mutually
programming harmony
like pure water
touching clear sky.
I like to think
(right now, please!)
of a cybernetic forest
filled with pines and electronics
where deer stroll peacefully
past computers
as if they were flowers
with spinning blossoms.
I like to think
(it has to be!)
of a cybernetic ecology
where we are free of our labors
and joined back to nature,
returned to our mammal
brothers and sisters,
and all watched over
by machines of loving grace.
one of my favorite things about Paul is how he will sometimes just get distracted and start praising God in the middle of a sentence, and then he has to repeat the sentence later to actually finish his thought
I should start doing that
friend: did you get home alright?
me: yeah the bus was late, but thank God - God, the Creator who is blessed forever! Amen.

me: the bus was late but I still made it to the train station in time
