i have ritually deactivated spellcheck on every word processor i’ve used since 2007. those damn squiggly lines are distracting and also i like to make up words a lot! i used to print out all my stuff and go over it with a red pen to make corrections (would love to do that now but printer ink is soo expensive), which was arguably a lot less efficient but hey, at least now i don’t have to rely on fucking AI-powered spellcheck lmao

it’s crazy how all the tools we rely on can just update with awful bullshit like this, become substantially worse, and no one involved in pushing the change faces any consequences whatsoever. good GOD does the tech industry need to be regulated
