i think everything is going to be okay (24, she/they :D)

i don´t think im capable of understanding what twitter people talk about anymore

Hey r/relationships, I'm sure by now you're all aware of the recent break in the timespace continuum that resulted in several characters from various animes "becoming real" for lack of a better word. In the wake of this event, I (34F) divorced my husband (37M) to try and persue a relationship with a character I've had a crush on since middle school. It took a while to track him down and ask him on a date, but to my surprise he accepted my offer and we went out to dinner at the local Olive Garden. Unfortunately, it wasn't a great date and we don't seem compatible as I'd hoped. I've been trying to get back together with my ex-husband but he seems to have blocked my number. Where do I go from here?

TVTropes gets made fun of a lot but it is a little astonishing how consistent that wiki's voice is. It's a great wiki to go to if you want to simulate having one specific autistic fifteen-year-old computer nerd infodump to you about any piece of media that exists. To be clear I am saying this as an overwhelmingly positive thing

the secret to life is always having something to look forward to

to anyone saying there's nothing to look forward to, I'm not saying it has to be anything spectacular or huge. it could just be a song or a book that will release in a few days, a tv show, anything!! no matter how small it seems it can keep us going

Quick! Put in the tags what you’re looking forward to right now!

I’ll go first: Im gonna go out to try a new restaurant this week with a friend!!

hot take possibly? but i actually think it’s okay for things to be marketed for adults. it’s literally okay if things aren’t suitable for children. i feel like we are losing the plot

ill always find it amusing when american fiction wants to be moralistic about not killing the bad guy but the author doesnt actually have a more humane way of resolving the conflict so they instead take the infinitely more progressive solution of "indefinite imprisonment"

I can’t believe “fake gamer girl” was an actual concept guys thought existed literally the most unfuckable guys who have ever lived were convinced girls were faking being interested in loser nerd hobbies to impress them

Johnny Eck was a performer from the 1930s who was born without any legs:

He's primarily known for appearing in the 1932 cult classic Freaks directed by Tod Browning.

However what I'm mostly obsessed with is this account of a magic trick he did with his non-disabled twin brother (text under the cut)

Like this is the funniest thing I've ever heard. Can you imagine

Easily one of the top 5 funniest things you can do as an identical twin

the way being employed keeps you from video games and other various activities is so sick. genuinely demonic

“oh just do it when you come home” i am dead. “oh just do it on your days off” i am bearing with getting reanimated. after being dead throughout the week.

“Public libraries are such important, lovely places!” Yes but do you GO there. Do you STUDY there. Do you meet friends and get coffee there. Do you borrow the FREE, ZERO SUBSCRIPTION, ZERO TRACKING books, audiobooks, ebooks, and films. Have you checked out their events and schemes. Do you sign up for the low cost courses in ASL or knitting or programming or writing your CV that they probably run. Do you know they probably have myriad of schemes to help low income families. Do you hire their low cost rooms if you need them. Have you joined their social groups. Do you use the FREE COMPUTERS. Do you even know what your library is trying to offer you. Listen, the library shouldn’t just exist for you as a nice idea. That’s why more libraries shut every year

If this post persuades even one person to get a free library account and use it, my time on this hellsite will not have been spent in vain
