I am the main provider for two disabled roommates while being disabled myself. One of my roommates has cancer, both have been in and out of the hospital this month. . My school was bombed, and my sister Nour's university was turned into rubble, which deprived us all of education. The war forced us to live in displacement centers, which are just tents that are not suitable for living

, especially in winter. Every day we live death, terror and panic a thousand times because of the continuous bombing of my city. The war has killed more than 50 of my relatives and neighbors. At the beginning of the war, we took refuge in my aunt's house, but it was also turned into rubble.

and have been displaced between shelters more than 13 times. My brothers and I have suffered from many diseases due to malnutrition, and we need medicine constantly. If we stay in Gaza, we may lose our lives. Recently, we have been seriously considering leaving Gaza to a safe place. However, the travel costs are very high. Nader and his entire family, including his wife and three young children, have been displaced several times.

Nader has lost his uncle and his wife, his cousin and his wife and their two young children. His father was injured in an attack that destroyed their entire home.

Just when we all thought there might be a sliver of hope for aid and food to get into Ghazzah, and for Nader and his family to escape, Israel shattered the ceasefire (after already breaking it nearly every day since it started) and resumed the mass carpet bombing and slaughtering of innocents. My friends have nowhere to go.

UPDATE: NEW LINK! Yahya and his family were displaced by the IOF, and are currently residing in Deir al-Balah, south-central Gaza.

Life as displaced Gazans was already extremely difficult for them. Food is very scarce, and their living conditions leave them exposed to the elements. Here is the frequent condition of their tent now that the winter rains have come:

Then, Yahya’s father was injured. Some cartilage was damaged in his neck, and doctors say he requires IMMEDIATE surgery to avoid permanent paralysis.

Yahya and his family previously had another campaign, but it was suddenly shut down by GFM with no explanation. They have created a new one, but it has EXTREMELY LOW FUNDS.

The surgery is a stifling €15,000 euros (about $15,729 USD). Yahya and his family have no hope of paying for it without your help.

I am currently watching an elderly loved one lose their mobility, and it is an extremely heartbreaking and isolating situation. I cannot imagine what Yahya and his family are going through, having no social or financial support and only minimal medical care.

Major update on Yahya’s little brother Omar

As discussed previously, Omar remains hospitalized with severe burns. You all raised €700 EUR to attain burn ointment for the immediate treatment of his wounds. Thank you.

Unfortunately, this is just the beginning of Omar’s treatment journey.

At just 7 years old, little Omar has third-degree burns over much of his small body due to the IOF attack. The burns are severe in that they burned through his skin, through his ligaments and muscles, and down to his very bones. To say this little boy is in constant, excruciating pain would be a gross understatement.

The pain is not his only problem. The damage to his skin is so severe that his body is unable to heal itself. He requires a skin graft in order to transplant new skin that will be able to regrow.

Without this, Omar’s extensive wounds will remain exposed for a very, very long time. This makes him extremely vulnerable to a catastrophic infection, and his body will be unable to fight it off. Infections are widespread in Gaza right now due to the IOF’s destruction of sanitation infrastructure and the scarcity of antibiotics and other medicines.

This means that at virtually any time, Omar could contract an infection and die. He URGENTLY needs this skin graft so he can finally start to heal!

This is the worst Eid I have ever experienced in my entire life. I lost all my friends in the war and I am left alone here suffering from the pain of loss. I used to go and visit my friends, but today I went to their homes and found their mothers collapsing from crying and grieving over the loss of their sons. We used to meet and go out and spend a pleasant time together, but unfortunately today I went and visited them in the cemetery and sat next to them all day crying from the intensity of my pain and regret. We all know what erectile dysfunction is but literally no one is ever taught what vaginismus is and it can cause people to feel extremely lost, broken, and cause people to take their own lives. Raise. Awareness.

For the uninformed, vaginismus is when the vagina painfully tightens and spasms when faced with pressure, usually from anything trying to insert into the vagina. It’s the reason I can’t wear tampons, and why many people can’t have vaginal sex without severe pain.

There’s not a lot of treatments, and there isn’t a single one that is for vaginismus exclusively - they’re all medications or treatments to treat symptoms, but not the causes. In fact, for a long time doctors waved off vaginismus as a purely psychological disorder in cis women.

Seriously, this is so unaddressed and uncared for in medical circles. Please spread awareness, even if all it’s for is to let those who have it but don’t have a name for it finally be able to understand what’s happening to their bodies.

Hi hello! This post is almost 10 years old and there ARE treatments for this. Vaginismus is otherwise known as pelvic hypertonia and it is a MUSCULAR condition that can be caused by many different factors including endometriosis, trauma, chronic UTIs, and connective tissue disorders.

It’s incredibly common! And it can be treated by physiotherapy.

I know this because I’m currently undergoing physio and although it can take months to recover, I’m already seeing improvement. A lot of the pelvic floor exercises are available online, but if you have these symptoms please TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR and see if you can get a physio referral (or investigation for underlying causes like endometriosis).

Also, my additions to posts never get reblogged so a note to my followers: this is SUPER IMPORTANT ISSUE that affects many people and is rarely talked about. Please reblog, and please share this info with as many people as possible.

Pelvic hypertonia/vaginismus is incredibly debilitating and psychologically damaging but it CAN BE TREATED. Spread the word, and you never know who you’ll be throwing a lifeline to.
