before you say it — i know that i can simply take said card out of the deck. that’s not the POINT! i don’t want to support people who continue to appropriate and bastardize lilith by turning her into something she is not. these deck creators need to realize that they can’t just take whatever they want from closed practices and turn it into some fluffy woowoo bullshit.

human beings are such deeply social creatures that we absolutely need community to survive, and community is not just a noun, it's a series of actions we take to help each other survive and thrive. there's a reason that volunteering for charity is such an effective tool in healing from mental health struggles.

I think it’s really weird that the average person needs a home and a car and an education to effectively function at all in a capitalist society but those things are all such an exorbitantly high price that the average person would never ever be able to pay for them one lump sum and thus we decided that upon entering adulthood every average person would likely have to sign their life away to various powerful banks to pay for these things and everyone was just like “Ok, that seems legit and not fucked up AT ALL.” and now it’s such an accepted and normalized part of society that everyone looks at you like you’re dumb for thinking it’s weird. I just think it’s really fucking weird.

Add in credit histories, which are basically a lifetime evaluation of your ability to continually be in and pay back debt, at rates neither too fast nor too slow for creditors to reap maximum profit from, and your entire life is basically paying for the privilege of being alive, without your having agreed to it in the first place.

Graveyard etiquette from a cranky traditional witch:

-Leave shit at the gate (coins, cigarettes, eggs, flowers)

-If alone go in silence, if with others speak in a hushed tone

-Wear a hat or head covering to prevent possession or bringing home unwanted spirits.

-Bring bells and/or rattles to wake the dead if desired

-Smoking in the graveyard or carrying a flame is an easy way to get the attention of the dead at night.

-Bring a knife or object made of iron should things get hairy (always bring a knife). Canes are also excellent tools for working with the dead

-have a way of gathering occult materia without being noticed by people or spirits (invisibility charms work best)

-If you're bringing spirits home with you (intentionally), don't turn around until you're across the threshold of your home

-Upon leaving the cemetery, say a prayer for the dead and wild things that inhabitant there

-When home, spread white powder (flower, salt, ect...) at the door to keep unwanted spirits out. A colander over a key hole works too.
