you say thine if the next word starts with a vowel and thy if the next word starts with a consonant and they both mean "your" so "thine own shoes," "thy shoes," okay?

Oh definitely. If you’ve never heard a ferret, I imagine they sound kinda like this too, especially when they get a scritch in the right spot or in their sleep when they’re super comfy. Knuckles I think would chuff like tigers do too bc he’s a big guy. You can feel it in your bones if he has his full weight leaning into you.
I am such a huge fan of them making lil rodent/fox noises involuntarily. I looked up an echidna squeak and it’s so small and sharp;w;
The idea that Maddie and Tom mimic it back at them is so precious I can’t, especially the chirps and the clicks they make when they’re all riled up and goofing around. They just hit them with one of these:
They all purr and growl.
Tails gives little squeak sounds when he's upset or startled.
Sonic gives little huffs through his nose when annoyed.
Knuckles makes little "garumph" sounds in his chest when he's frustrated. He also blows out little huffs of breath through his nose when pissy. And his muzzle wrinkles adorably when he does.
I'm a sucker for these boys having animal traits and behaviors.
