So on the cruise Garrett Wang made a joke that Kate Mulgrew never says anything inconsequential. As in, if shes not joking around then she’s looking into your soul and suddenly you’re having the deepest conversation of your life. He made that joke the night before photo ops with Kate. So then the next day my mum and I go up to get a photo with her together. Afterwards, she asked if we were mother and daughter and I said yes. Then, as my mum was walking off, Kate clasped my shoulder to get my attention, stared intently into my eyes, and with an incredible amount of emotion said β€œenjoy this time with your mother, you’ll miss her when she’s gone”. Then all of a sudden I’m needing to move even though I’m still processing that moment, while Kate is already getting ready for the next photo op. So uh, yeah. Garrett is absolutely right.
