Future Son????

It has been a while since I have done an original prompt. So DCxDP prompt #2

Danny gets into a fight with Impulse/Bart about Bart changing the timeline messing things up for Danny and effectively erasing his family, because the change made it so Maddie and Jack never got together. But because of Clockwork sending him on a mission to the past while Bart changed the timeline and the medallion Dan had phased into Danny he remembers the old timeline. Also he has access to his powers but for some reason can’t change into ghost form.

This fight happens in front of the rest of the young justice team. And Nightwing was coming there to teach a training lesson and over hears half of what Danny is shouting.

From Dick’s point of view there is a black haired, blue eyed kid with powers that are suspiciously like a Tamuraneans, yelling at Bart about losing his family because his parents never got together. Also Dick and Kori had recently broken up. (Feel free to make up a reason.)

Due to a misunderstanding Dick is going to help his time displaced “son” adjust to the new reality.

Looked at a few comments and we’ll say that he actually is Dick/Kori’s son from the future. Could be clockwork meddling, or maybe Danny’s dna corrupted the machine, etc. the reason Danny can’t shift though? Is because since he doesn’t exist, he lost his connection to the ghost zone. He still had his powers because they’re imbedded into his dna. But he can’t shift because he’s not a ghost anymore. He’s just a metahuman.

Wait isn’t Starfire supposed to have powers not all Tamaraneans have? Like she is a tamaranean version of a meta? Also what if the timeline rewrite makes it so Danny doesn’t have intangiblity and invisibility anymore too?

Her powers are the result of being force fed large amounts of solar radiation, something I'm pretty sure could happen for any of her race. So she's more like the Captain America of her race than an X-Men

Ok I'm loving these ideas so here's an attempt.

Dick couldn't help but stare at the kid in front of him. He looked distraught. Horrified. Lost. Like the rest of the boys Bruce had taken in. Dick as the only semi adult needed to step in but something about the child's expression reminded him of his last night at the circus.

Then the boy turned to look at him and immediately froze, the colour leeching from his face. The mouthed "Dad" kicked him into gear.

"Hey guys what's going on?" Dick was nothing if not a performer and he relied on it to seem calm and in control whenever it felt a little too out of his reach. This was one of those times.

Bart, in typical Bart fashion starts speed talking and it's only years of experience with Barry and Wally that he can even follow what's being said. "hesaysichangedthefutureandnowhedoesnthveafamilyandishouldfixitbutireallydontwanttobecausethatmeansgoingbackbutalsoitwouldmeantheendoftheworldbuthesconvinceditwouldnthappenbecausesoefruitloophadbeendealtwithandtheevilclonerehabilitated?"

Dick looks to the kid who looks like he saw a ghost. "What's your name kid?"

The kid swallowed a couple of times, the whispered "Danny" still sounding like it was half stuck around a sob. Dick smiled hoping to ease him out. "Hi Danny I'm Nightwing. Why don't you come with me and we'll see what we can do to help you, yeah?"

Danny nodded but he didn't seem to be getting any less shocked anytime soon. He followed him to the kitchen easily enough though so that had to count for something.

"Do you want some hot chocolate? It really helps with things not seeming so bad, you know." At his nod, Dick made a couple of mugs and passed one over to him. They say for a minute, hands wrapped around their respective mugs. Dick staring at the kid, cataloguing the infinite similarities they'd be similar enough in everyone Grayson, don't read into it while Danny stared into his cup.

"So," Dick cleared his throat and tried again. "Want to explain things to me?"

That's when the kid started crying silently and Dick had never felt more like his namesake than he did then.

I am going to backtrack a bit.

Dick was making sure he had everything thing he needed before heading to Mount Justice to give the Young Justice team a scheduled training session when an alarm went off. Apparently there was an unknown entity attacking the very base he was going to. Well bat training has done nothing if not make him adaptable.

With his Nightwing suit already on Dick checks that the Zeta tubes are still online before using them to head into the base. Right away he saw dents and scorch marks in the walls and broken equipment. Huh he actually was really lucky the zeta tubes were intact. He ran following the path of destruction and the loud yelling and fighting he could hear.

“Your change erased them!” Sob, Slam! Buzz-smash! “You have to change it back!” Wham! “I want them back!” Zap! Crash!! All of that was a young male voice Dick didn’t recognize but the anguished rage was clear.

Thud! “I think I got him!” Dick heard Superboy shout.

“That’s what you said five minutes and three meta grade sedatives ago!” Tim yelled back.

Dick skidded to a halt and peaked around the corner into what was left of the training room. In the middle was Superboy struggling to hold back a black haired teen boy that had a bright green glow around his hands that reminded Dick so much of Starfire. The boy was singularly focused on a scared Impulse on the ground backed against a wall. Miss Martian was standing next to Superboy with a concentrated expression and out stretched hands. She was using telekinesis to also try to hold the intruder down but her shaking made it clear how difficult this was.

Wonder girl now jumped down from a hole in the ceiling that she had clearly been thrown through to make the hole, and was moving to assist Superboy and Miss Martian, when the boy sucked in a massive breath.

“Hit the deck!” Tim shouted warning from where he was going to helping Bart up, only for Bart to grab him and zoom to Dick’s side of the room just before the Boy released a sonic scream that would make Black Canary’s cry look weak.

Wonder girl was sent flying into another wall. Superboy and miss Martian let go to cover their ears.

When the cry was over the boy wobbly got to his feet and turned to where Impulse went finally giving Dick a good look at his face.

The tear stain trails on his cheeks cut through the dust that the fighting had settled on him. But it was the grief and rage mixed blue eyes that had Dick suddenly feeling like he was looking at his younger self after his last day at the circus. Then the boy caught sight of dick and he froze mouthing “Dad?”

Well you guys know what happens from there. But what happens after Danny explains things? And how will Bart act now that he has learned first hand the consequences of changing history? What the rest of the young justice team think? Oh and of course how is Bruce and the rest of the bat clan going to react? Of course reblogs with additions are encouraged.

“But,” Bart said slowly, as if trying to search for words, “How could changing the timeline to stop the end of the world break up your parents?”

Danny had been given tissues. He hadn’t stopped crying, shooting Dick side glances, almost as if he couldn’t believe his eyes that Dick was actually there. It had only solidified Dick’s suspicions that he and Starfire were actually the boys biological parents.

“Time is complicated.” Danny explained with a small sniffle. “People think time is linear. It’s not. Imagine if you’re watching a parade from above. You can see every person in the parade, and you can see all the directions they can go. That’s how time works. You can see the possibilities, and how each one ends. But you diverted the parade. It’s not going in the same direction anymore.”

“I’m sorry.” Bart apologized, “But I can’t change what I’ve done.”

“I know.” Danny blew his nose. “But that doesn’t make it hurt any less.”

“What are you going to do now?” Dick asked.

“I don’t know.” Danny sighed. “Everything I’ve ever known is gone. I’m stuck in the past years before my parents even got married or had my older sister, or even me. Nothings familiar…” the last part was barely a whisper as Danny’s familiar blue eyes locked onto his own, “I just want my family.”

Dick’s heart broke.

Danny sat in this kitchen, surrounded by crumbled tissues, a mostly empty cup of hot chocolate (that strangely tasted so similar to his dad's fudge) (and wasn't that a real kicker?) and a few people surrounding him. A younger version of his dad was sitting right there in front of him, but nothing about the man was familiar. His presence didn't bring that sense of safety or comfort or home.

How could his eyes still be so kind and concerned about him even when it was clear he didn't know him? Danny could see the lack of recognition in his dad's eyes and it was killing him.

When the portal had dropped him off here, there was suddenly nothing. He could still use some of his powers, but that connection to his core? To the Zone? It had vanished. It was as if half his soul had just been ripped out of him. Like getting electrocuted again except in reverse.

The awkward clearing of a throat had him looking up. "So Danny," Danny winced, realising he'd never hear his dad booming Dann-o again. "Do you want to connect with your parents in the, um, current time? If their names are different we can help track them down with DNA if you like or we can come up with an alternate solution where you don't have to connect with them."

Danny rubbed at his face again, trying to scrub away the last of his tears. "I don't know know whether it would be better to meet them or no."

A green post it note materialised suddenly in between him and Nightwing.

"Oh no"

Dick looked up at the boy at that, only to barely catch the boy as he threw himself at Dick sobbing, clutching tightly. "Dad! Dad I'm sorry. Don't leave me please. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

And then comes a second note

Note: She's being loud and inherited more of your powers than you thought

"More powers than I-" Danny froze as did everyone else. He felt tiny arms around him and looked down to see Dani hugging him for dear life

His heart skipped a beat. It can't be. But he can't help but hope, not caring for the heartache should this he an illusion. "Eh-Ellie?" He whispered.

"Danny," she mumbles into his chest, with the way she was muffled, everyone thought they heard her say "daddy"

So trying to give Dick a heart attack? Not only meeting his displaced future son but a grand daughter. Boy are his siblings going to rib him about setting the right examples. Not that it helps much when Danny says Ellie was made by one of his rouges in a cloning lab. That just makes them think ‘The apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree.’

Jazz not existing is going to mess up Nightwing when he learns more about her.

Jazz not existing after practically raising Danny herself is gonna kill Nightwing

What makes it even worse is when Nightwing asks where was he when Jazz was taking care of Danny and the kid just shrugging and just saying he was too busy with work. Nightwing misinterprets it thinking he became like Bruce and let being a vigilante take over.

Danny then turns to his clone and speaks, "Not that I'm not grateful, but how are you here?"

Dani took a deep breath and answered, "I was with Clockwork when the change hit and he put me in a bubble so he can make me watch a video to get caught up but I broke it and then he froze time to put me into another bubble, but I have your power that lets me move in frozen time so he couldn't do anything and then I used the Royal Canterlot Voice and demanded to see you and then he froze time again and then I hugged you before he unfroze time"

Dick's only thought was, "Yeah talking like that's definitely something she got from Starfire"

"...Royal Canterlot Voice?" Danny asked, already dreading the implications

"ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE!" she spoke loudly, cause Danny's hair to be swept back before he forces everything back into position

"Yep, that's my kid alright," Danny says

Here it is. The promised 3000 notes update. Dick watched Danny yawn again and continue cuddling Ellie on the couch. That was the fourth in the pas two minutes. Seems like the sedatives Tim mentioned they used to try stopping the fight were finally kicking in.

Ellie, goodness not only Does he have a son from the future but technically also a granddaughter. Who was made by a rogue trying to clone Danny. Oh that is a lot to unpack. Seems obsessive villainsis another thing Danny has in common with him. Probably should try learning the identities of Danny’s rogues list to keep an eye on them.

His phone vibrated in its pocket again. It started blowing up with notifications about twenty minutes after Dick had told Bart to go talk to his grandfather and Wally about what happened. The poor kid was crushed learning how much unintended consequences came from changing the timeline. But with all the notifications Dick had no doubt that the news has spread to the rest of the caped community. For a group where secrecy is so important gossip sure travels fast.

Tim came up next to Dick in the doorway with an unhappy face. Taking the hint Dick follow him to the computer room which thankfully wasn’t in the path of Danny’s attack earlier and was in one piece.

“DNA results are back. Danny wasn’t kidding when he said his DNA was messed up. But even with the rewrite, and somehow an undo of the rewrite, it was clear he is yours and Starfire’s.” Tim then has an uncomfortable face before continuing. “There are also traces amounts of Lazarus water in there. And even more in Ellie.”

Dick grimaced, “We’ll add that to the list of tough conversations later. Right now I want to make sure they get settled. This base suffered enough damage.”

“Right emotional and mental stability.” Tim nods. “Guess that means I’ll be running interference with B while you get them set up with a place and therapy with Dinah?”

“Ugh, yes please.” Dick groaned. He knew he was forgetting something. And dealing with Bruce was not something he even wanted to think about right now. If the man tries pulling the adoption thing because of how young Dick would have been with his time travel kid’s current ages he honestly is going to punch him in the face.

Tim seemed to be reading his mind and clacked a few keys bringing up the Happy Harbor city attractions page up on screen. “If you get some things settled tonight it might help to get some bonding in tomorrow?”

Danny woke up to a blanket draped over him and Ellie on a couch. At first he thought that Ellie had stayed the night at his home. But as he got up the memories of the past day all came back.

He should have known that Clockwork wasn’t going to fix it. The Ancient had even said that they are on a better timeline before sending him after the speedster. Probably the only reason he sent Danny was to teach the kid a lesson.

Not wanting to dwell on it anymore Danny got up go see if the younger alternate version of his Dad was still around. As he wondered around the place he felt a tiny bit guilty at the damage he had caused. He eventually heard “past dad” arguing with someone called B on the phone and changed his mind to find the kitchen instead.

After a bit he remembered where it was and got started making breakfast for himself and Ellie. He was still thinking about what Clockwork had told him before being sent after the speedster, and so grabbed a knife on subconscious memory being read to fight whatever reanimated in the refrigerator before opening it. He was confused for a second when nothing jumped out to attack him.

“Something wrong?” Danny almost jumped when he heard his da- Nightwing’s voice behind him. When did he get here? Wasn’t he just arguing on the phone in another room?

“Oh um, it’s nothing. Just a force of habit.” Danny tried to brush it off as he reached for the egg cartons ham and cheese.

“Really? And what habit would that be?” Dick asked with an amused expression.

“Oh just defending from leftovers trying to bite by hand off.”

Nightwing blinked a couple times before he seem to remember something that made sense. “Ah your mom’s cooking. … So I have some friends that are going help me get a place set up for you and Ellie, but for now you two can stay here. My place, uh, isn’t up to code for kids to stay in.”

Danny snorts a laugh and mumbles under his breath “some things never change.” But catches Nightwing getting a concerned look and realizes he wasn’t quiet enough. He decides to try distracting from t. “Still haven’t gotten the hang of omelets so it will probably turn out scrambled. If you want some?” "I could make omelets." "No offence, but I have been sent to alternate universes and timelines by a time god, and in none of them could you cook." Danny deadpanned.

"Hmph." grunted sulkily. He could hear Kon laughing in the other room. "So where did you learn from then?"

Danny froze and was quiet for a moment before he went back to dicing the ham. "My big sister... Jazz."

And once again Dick felt like his name's sake. He will ask about Jazz more when the loss isn't so fresh. For both of them. Better change tracks. "So um, since my friends are going to get some things settled for us, why don't we go do something fun together?"

"Yawn, What kind of fun thing?" Ellie said as she floated through the door and then practically draped herself on Danny. Dick practically had flashbacks to when he was a teen titan and Starfire would do that. He chuckled as Danny gave him a look and then the boy rolled his eyes before moving to deposit Ellie into the other kitchen chair. "Yeah, I was thinking we could go see the Haley's circus a couple towns over."

Danny flinched but quickly recovered and cracked the eggs into the frying pan. "um got any other options? I have bad memories of clowns and highwires."

Oh fuck you Joker. Should gone back and have finished you off after B resuscitated you. Dick thought. As he pulled out his phone and started looking for other attractions. Ellie had seemed to wake up enough to look over his shoulder at the search with him. After a minute she Gasped and lunged for the phone.

"That one!" she cried. Dick wrestled the phone back and barked a laugh at what his future daughter (Granddaughter?) picked. As she cheered, "Batman the musical!"

Dick was almost dying of laughter by the time he was done reading the description. (That and in the other rom still listening in, Tim exclaiming "Say what?!") Oh, it looked so campy and like it would be so bad it was hysterical. Ok, Ellie made the best pick. "Yeah, we will go see that."

----- Time skip ----

They were all still laughing as they left the theater. It was both better and worse then he could even imagined but just as hysterical as he thought it would be. Dick now understood how toph felt in the ember island players episode. Then they had stayed after a bit to talk to some of the actors and Danny zeroed in on one in particular, Joel Baxter, taking a ton of photos and getting him to make the silliest poses. Turns out that was the father of danny's school bully and Danny was collecting blackmail material just in case he ever can get to his timeline again. Ah the bat tradition of embarrassing photos continues.

Half way to the zeta tube to return to base they feel a rumble in the ground followed by a cracking sound as plant vines rapidly grew out of the concrete and started engulfing the office building of an energy company.

Dick cursed and put his communicator to his ear. “Nightwing to cave! Ivy is out and tearing up downtown!”

“Already got eyes on it. Just now suiting up.” answered Batman's rough voice. Nightwing noted that it was a bit early in the evening for the bat to be out and about.

“That means I need to find a place to change.” Dick answered looking for a concealed place. “Ok I need to take care of this so you two stick close till I find a safe spot for- wait no!”

Danny had already taken off flying towards the vines with Ellie right behind him. Dick cursed again as he sprinted for a dark alley to change. What were his kids thinking! They didn’t even have disguises on! Thank goodness they’re eye changed to glowing green at least.

“Hey Meanie Greenie! You’re making a mess!” Danny shouted. This caused Poison Ivy to stop in her rant to turn and look at him. Danny's eyes widened as he recognized her face. "Sam's mom?"

Then a bunch of smoke pellets around her and swung on his grapple line to grab the kids and pull them around a corner of the building.

"What were you thinking? You don't even have masks on." Nightwing urgently whispered. He peered around the corner at Poison Ivy while pulling out spare domino masks he keeps for his younger brother and handed them to Danny and Ellie.

"Sam's mom is a rogue in this timeline?" Ellie mused as she put on the mask Nightwing had given her like Danny did. "Huh, that somehow makes sense."

"Ok compare notes later. now I'll keep Ivy's attention. you two go around that way to get hostages out." Nightwing hissed. he kept an eye on Pamala looking for an opening. They nod and take off down the alley. Nightwing saw Pamala get distracted from looking for him by the sound of a familiar Black vehicle quickly arriving.

Nightwing took the opportunity to engage combat with the rogue. once Batman arrived the fight was almost over, and their help finished it quickly.

"I thought you were running training exercises with Robin's team." Batman said in leu of greeting.

"Something came up." Nightwing responded curtly. he wanted to get out of there before the kids got done. cause he really doesn't want to introduce his kids from the future to Bruce right now.

"We got the hostages safely out the back" the kids called coming back around the building to join him. Life just loved messing up his plans didn't it.

And that is where I am going to leave it so others can come up with what happens next themselves. Also I made up Joel Baxter since the wiki did not have a name for the bully Dash's father. And am putting this before Harley and Ivy got out of crime or together. playing fast and loose with the timeline as usual. but trying to keep things to while Tim is Robin and before Red Hood or Damian has come to Gotham. hmm maybe someone can used that as a plot point later.

*Hesitantly asks about Danny and Ellie's siblings (Dani already showed up {as shown somewhere in the reblogs, so yes, this is also a reblog of those reblogs too} and was explained to Dick. And if he EVER gets his hands on this Vlad person ... 😈)*

*Danny and Ellie happily explain about Jazz first, saying Dan is a little complicated*

*Dick:*

*Happily heartbroken that Jazz sounds like a perfect mix of him and Starfire personality wise and that she got her Mom's hair*

*Getting to Dan*

*Dick ........ could accept Dan being an alternate version of Danny, he's dealt with weirder stuff, though he's heartbroken that there's no way that Dan can be born here. No, what shatters him is learning about WHY Dan was a thing IN THE FIRST PLACE.*

*Dick:*

*Adds Dan's story to Danny losing everything just now*

*REFUSES to let that happen, no matter HOW sad he is at the loss of Dan*

Ohhhhhh, what if Dan HAD survived? He just didn't come with Dani because Clockwork had to calm him down first from the fact that he lost his loved ones AGAIN. Dan would have attacked WORSE than Danny.

*After Dick learns about Dan and is plotting on how to keep his son and Daughter/granddaughter from snapping in a similar way*

*ANOTHER flash of light, this time with a note*

*A teen, looking like Danny's twin, then shows up out of the light*

Huh. Dan is from a collapsed timeline, and that is whey he was unaffected by a new timeline taking over cause he was already not fully connected to it. He shoved the time medallion into Danny which combined with the time mission made him disconnected enough not to disappear. And because of danny having the time medallion fused to him before Dani/Ellie was made she was also immune to the timeline shift. In a way Dan’s actions of self preservation actually saved them.

Oh and it goes deeper!

Each of the Fenton siblings represent a part of Dick! Danny and the heroism protecting people. Dani and her free spirit and enjoyment of chaos. Dan represents rage and vengeance of loosing loved ones. If Jazz was still here she would represent Dick’s eldest sibling syndrome and responsible side.

Kinda wish Dan had secretly fused a Time medallion to Jazz while he was reforming. Still not totally good yet but had re-bonded with her enough that he never wanted to loose her so stole from clockwork again. Which Clockwork might allow cause it is better then Dan reverting into a rage monster if something did happen.

*After recovering from their shock*

*Danny and Ellie:*

Dan!!

*Tackles him into a bearhug*

*Dan:*

*Waaaay to emotional and overjoyed that two of his loved ones are ALIVE to protest the hug and allows to two to cling onto him*

*Dan had been in the Ghost Zone in therapy with Clockwork. Thus Clockwork was able to restrain and soothe Dan. Clockwork just didn't tell Ellie or Danny because he was focused on calming Dan*

*Dan, seeing Dick and forcibly shoving THAT breakdown for later, too focused on soothing his weeping siblings:*

*Deep breath* Fair warning, Dad, keep HIM away from me. Unlike Danny? I WILL kill him.

*A woman's voice:*

While I agree with your disappointment, Dan, we will NOT be doing that.

*Dan, Danny, and Ellie:*

*VISIBLY stiffens and slooooowly turns, praying to GOD they aren't hallucinating*

*THIS pushes poor Dan over the edge*

*Dan:*

*Pushes Danny and Ellie away gently and LAUNCHES himself at his older sister, breaking down WAILING*

*Danny and Ellie aren't too far behind him*

*It takes SEVERAL minutes for the siblings to calm down from their breakdown*

*Dan, still sobbing but now coherent:*

Dad! Jazz is alive!

Poor Tim. He only came to the kitchen for a coffee refill. Instead he sees one kid with Dick’s murder face that he is going to have to keep away from Bart. then all the emotional reunion, and now he Dick’s thinking face changing to mischief?! Yeah he definitely has not had enough coffee for this. Maybe he should see if he can find a space mission to get his team out of dodge for a while, and hopefully wait out the worst of the drama.

*Tim:*

*Sees the sobbing siblings*

*Decides he's not caffeinated enough to ask yet*

*Gets coffee, ignoring the weeping, sips coffee, walks RIGHT BACK OUT*

Not today, Satan.

*Later*

*Some Justice League members come across the siblings sleeping off their reunion breakdowns in the living room*

*Dick:*

Wake them up and I end you. I just got them to sleep.

Ok here me out! A time and dimension displaced Sam and Tucker! Who each lost their Danny +the other! Learned magic! (For Sam “normal or standard magic plus behaving the title of the Daughter of the Green) maybe she become the Dark Witch of the Green. And for tucker Pharaoh magic plus technology based abilities) both tried to avenge their friends and got labeled a villain for it!

So they disappeared into the ghost zone! Found the other. Learned that while they may not be the variant that they grew up with they’re still pretty close. And then realize if there’s time lines where they lost everyone….then they had to be at least one time line where A Danny survived but lost them. And have been hunting to find one since. Clockwork has had to constantly redirect these two so they wouldn’t find Dan pre redemption. As then Past Danny would have had no chance whatsoever!

But now that things are as stable as they’ve going to get. There’s a Jazz, Danny, Ellie and Dan( I vote he changes his name to Jordan as a tribute prior to Jazz showing up! Who then demands he keeps it so she’s not left out the the naming anymore! As well as a confused but supportive set of parents.

So they show up in all they’re dark glory and as soon as they see Danny (who doesn’t fight back because of shock) this leads to a chase that should end with Starfire finally showing up who has already read every text and update Dick has sent her.

Now the thing is Dark witch Sam and pharaoh tuck are messed up in the head. They both lost their Danny’s in different but equally tragic ways. So they’re border line Yandere’s at this point. (It can be romantic or platonic) So when they find out that this timeline has 2 Danny’s that have each lost and grieved their variants they HAVE to stay. Ok time to pull out the waterworks….

Finally they explain they’re from timelines/dimensions where they were the last person standing and got blamed and vilified for their grief over losing there loved ones. And that the original plan was find a Danny who has lost their variants and take him with them before anyone can hurt him like what happened in their timelines. But now that they see there’s a jazz, Ellie and a Jordan here they can’t possibly take him! They look up at Starfire. Who’s glaring at the 2 maybe villains holding her sons kinda hostage. (Kinda being the operative word as her sons are each clinging to one.) but before she can try to get them to safety. They start crying.We’re so sorry!!!!!! W-we just didn’t want him to suffer like we did! They hurt our Danny’s’! We didn’t want to happen here! They called us villains for wanting Justice! We see that it was Wrong of us to try to take him without knowing all the facts! But PLEASE LET US STAY! We have nowhere else to go! We can’t go back to our Earths! We’ll be good! Aren’t you hero types allll about second chances! We’re both finally strong enough to protect him the way HE did! But NOW THEY SEE THEY LOST THEIR WAY! Abd want to be the Heroes Danny would want them to be! Please teach us! DON’T MAKE US SAY GOODBYE! JUST GIVE US A CHANCE!!!

Dick who has finally caught up really wants to say no. But Jordan abd Danny are clinging to them and flashing the most pathetic wet kitten eyes he has ever seen!!!!!!!!!

Fine you can stay but your on thin ice understand! Both of you are going to under surveillance and he’s going to have since a magical contract that outlines the rules! (This won’t backfire….right?)

Thoughts! 

Dick (and the justice league and bat clan) are wondering just how many time lines Bart broke and started. As for Sam and Tuckers rogue names I was thinking of Hemlock for Sam and Pharaoh-tech of just Pharaoh for Tucker. (Though I thought DC already had a character named Pharaoh but am not 100% sure.)

Oh speaking of, now would be the perfect time for Batman to come in demanding answers from Dick on what’s going on. Cause Nightwing basically ditched him while the Poison Ivy attack was being cleared up, and he knows he saw two kids flying around in domino masks.

Flash also comes asking why Bart was crying he was sorry for accidentally killing people and breaking time. The kid was sobbing so hard he was hard to understand. And nosey eavesdropper Superman is there out of curious concern as it is never a good sign when both Batman and Flash are upset.

Tim has already corralled the rest of young justice to go pick Bart up from the flash house and then get out of dodge.

You know what I just put together. Because all of the Fenton kids are just about immune to timeline changes they make a perfect counter to any speedster trying to get away with something by changing the past. No way grandpa Batman isn’t going to put that into some contingency plans. Batman may be scary but his kids and grandkids going after you is terrifying.

Anyway this post could use some fresh life breathed into and we can see if someone else makes another connection or observation the rest of us missed.

Mostly, I just want Kon cooing at the baby clone. I think he’s the only living and non-evil clone known at this time (unless Red arrow has already been discovered). But this is a baby clone. Little kid. All the clones he knew were full grown or at least teenagers. And where is Starfire!? You telling me she would be ECSTATIC to have not one, but 3 kids?! (And 1 granddaughter). These are her babies. I need more Starfire and kids interactions.

You know that is a good point. The only reason Starfire hasn’t busted into the base is if she is busy doing something on Tammaran and the transmission hasn’t reached her yet. Yeah we will go with her busy settling a dispute over the throne between herself, her older Sister Blackfire, and her younger brother Wildfire.

Well that takes care of their breakup. Now Dick is worried someone showed Kori omegaverse fanfic. And if not, to make sure she never finds out what that is. Actually he thought the security system on all titans computers filtered that stuff out. Unless someone hacked it. Add checking that to the to-do list.

Oh and here comes another distraction in the form of Batman meeting his kid. Dang it, Tim was supposed to buy him more time.

Once he knows what actually happened and was said Batman is going to struggle to keep a straight face. Cause this is the kind of chaos Dick would cause back when he was still Robin, and now as the grandparent he gets to sit back and watch as Dick scrambles clear up the mess of a misunderstanding.

Going back to high levels of radiation being what caused Kori to have her powers, imagine if she asks why she'd ever do that in an alternate timeline?

The kids bring up that their house was technically irradiated by ectoplasm, given they lived and were raised above an active portal to the afterlife. That they already think that ectoplasm is a concentrated version of Lazarus Water means they now think that concentrating the substance lead to it becoming radioactive.

Until Ellie sees some Kryptonite and eats it like rock candy. The 'twins' (Danny and Jordan) salivate at it and complain that she got to it first.

When they meet Damian, they look disgusted.

"Ew! Your ectoplasm is rotting!"

"Ellie! He probably doesn't even realize it's rotten. There isn't almost anyone here with ectoplasm. Dad even wondered if it was a type of Lazarus Water. Weird name. A bit on the nose."

"It is green, but water? It's more a gel. Like aloe. Though, it can become the consistency of slime or even as firm as boba if there's a level of consciousness attached to it. That stuff in Little Uncle is like sewage."

Awe love the term little uncle for Damian. He would have mixed feelings on it though. Oh and the talking about the rotten ectoplasm Damian has, and an even worse reaction to Jason. That is going to have Dick questioning just what exactly happened in that other timeline.

You what hasn't been brought up is how this affects Starfire's situation. Who's claim for the throne just got significantly stronger with four heirs. I don't know who you'd rate higher jazz being born first or Dan for being older. Or a wild card for Danny for coming with his own heir in the form of Dani. That's two generations of succession right there. Plus potential chaos for if this is a royal ghost Danny, go on if I had a nickel for every time I got caught up in royal succession I'd have two which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice.

Oooo. Now there is a way to add some action. And technically since their ghost sides are locked and the timeline shift is having them adapt to being half tamaranean Danny doesn’t have the ghost king title in this au.

But back to the action. What if the issues on tamaran was a big part of why she and Dick were going to break up? Yes she has been a hero on earth for a long time, but she still is a princess with a duty to her people. And Nightwing is close to being at the center of most of the hero teams on earth, he can’t really leave for too long. The comics solved it by having Starfire defeat Blackfire, but then hand the crown off to her younger brother Wildfire. But how does the time line changes in this AU make this situation different?

Danny ends up king by inexplicably showing up to defeat Blackfire

I came across the AU idea that Dick Grayson is Richard Parker, and thus, Peter Parker's biological father. There are a few fics where Peter dimension travels to the DC universe and gets to meet his dead father. It is a fun idea, but I have different one.

AU where Peter dimension travels to the DC universe, and the batfam realizes that he is Dick's son, but rather than think he is from another universe, they all come to the conclusion that he is from the future.

It makes sense, after all, the rules of time travel basically boil down to 'don't change anything.' So when Peter is avoiding them and "pretending" not to know them, they just think he is following the rules. (He isn't even really avoiding them, he just has no idea who they are.)

You know how once you have an idea in your head, it take a lot of convince you that your wrong? Same idea here, they are so convinced of their idea that all new info ends up making them surer. Confirmation bias.

So Peter is trying to find a way home while the batfam tries to subtly help him without getting involved in time travel. Hijinks ensue.

Let's mix 2 tropes together. Dick is Peter's dad, as is the premise. Now, instead of Richard Parker, it's Bio Dad Tony. There is no Richard Parker in Peter's universe, instead Mary Parker is Ben's sister

Danny’s mostly gotten the hang of portals by now. Sure, it’s not perfect, but he’s pretty accurate for the most part. So when he was super tired after another late night ghost battle, he decided to just portal home instead of flying back.

And he screwed it up.

Instead of coming out into the lab at home, he landed in the workspace of an alternate universe version of his dad.

He didn’t immediately notice though. Sure, the T-rex statue is new, but it honestly might not be the weirdest thing he’s ever seen his parents work on. Plus, again, he’s exhausted. He doesn’t have the energy to deal with that right now. In fact, he was so out of it that he didn’t even bother to fully fly to his bedroom, just collapsing onto the first couch he found and immediately going to sleep.

Alfred frowned down at the boy he’d found sleeping on the couch. He knew the faces of all Bruce’s kids, and this wasn’t any of them.

Maybe he’d just brought in another one and forgot to tell him. The boy certainly fit the mold.

He sighed and shook his head fondly. He’d bring it to Bruce up in the morning. For now, he just laid a blanked over the sleeping figure. The boy looked like he needed his rest.

[Eh I just feel like it'll be funnier if the batfam is there witnessing the whole thing.]

It's late enough at night for it to be early morning, which means it's also the time for post patrol briefing. All things considered, it's a peaceful night, by Gotham standards. Nothing interesting to report from the bats that joined tonight.

Which makes for a very boring debrief, unfortunately. Tim picked at the edge of the keyboard idly as he goes down his list on the screen. As much as he tells himself boring is a good thing in this line of work, he and boring tasks are not friends.

Then out of nowhere a swirling neon green portal opened midair–inside the bat cave, where it's supposedly and specifically warded against portaling–and Tim wished he can swallow back his thoughts a minute ago.

There's a quiet scramble as all of them readied themselves for a potential hostile. Except a moment of tense anticipation later, only a teenager flew- no, floated out of the portal.

A dark haired, in t-shirt and ratty jeans, eye half open, tired looking teenager.

None of them lowered their guard, but non of them made a move either. Which means they all watched in mild bafflement as the teen twisted towards the dino statue for a second, mumbled a barely audible 'oh cool', then dropped into one of the couches in a tangle of limbs.

Another second later, Tim heard faint snoring.

Well, here goes the boring I guess, Tim thought in bewilderment, as he spared a look at the ecto-detection alerts flashing across the bat computer. Wonder if Boston would know what's up.

Boston the minute he arrives: *~SQUEEEEEEEEE~* IT'S KING PHANTOM! 🤴

He’s so tired nobody has the heart to wake him. They pull a hair for DNA testing and he doesn’t stir.

By the time Boston arrives, the DNA test has flagged Bruce as a parental match.

Holy shit.

And he’s some sort of king of ghosts?

So we can have a Danny who hasn’t quite woken up yet thinking this is his dad, and trying desperately to ignore the ghost that’s floating around invisibly and trying to talk to him, because if Jack realises there’s a ghost there then all hell is going to break loose, and Danny needs his dad to go away so he can get the ghost out of here…

And then he looks around and this is a new place and he doesn’t know any of these other people and he’s Very Concerned.

And then Boston casually pops into the body of one of the batkids (Tim this time because he was in Dick for a while) to say “Something’s wrong. I don’t think he can hear me.” And Bruce goes “Hn” and they discuss it for a bit, and then Boston pops out of Tim and the rest of them catch Tim up on what Boston said, and Danny realises that he might have got the wrong end of the stick…

Well if Boston's arrival didn't trigger his ghost sense to wake Danny up then he must be really out of it. Potentially injured too. I don't think it'll be anything major on his human side, nothing to warrant immediate concern from the bats, but some minor scrapes and cuts maybe.

Anyways let's backtrack a bit: the DNA testing. I think they would be looking for what Danny is first, considering that memorable entrance. So,

Upon closer inspection, the teen is sporting an array of bruises, scrapes and small cuts in varying stages of healing.

They are also legitimately snoring away less than a minute after they tumbled out of a portal. No response to their approach, not even stirring as they moved him to the med bay, nor when Cass treated their newer wounds. Tim would be concerned for their vitals if not for the rhythmic snoring.

Speaking of... Tim took a note of the incredibly slow heart rate and the abnormally low body temperature as he took a blood sample. Definitely not baseline human then, as if the casual flight displayed earlier isn't proof enough.

The question now is what are they?

A proper sequencing would take a while, so Tim ran a few quick(er) tests first while they wait for Boston and the test. First of all to check if this unknown individual is human (probably??? The results are weird). Then another to see if he has meta genes or homo magi origins (he doesn't have a strong tie to either). Then an longer indicator check to see if he is a hybrid of any known compatible non human species (he isn't). And finally, to see if he has the trace radiation comes from dimensional- oh. The reading of their visto is off the charts.

And then, as Tim is still processing that astronomically high reading, the results of the proper sequencing comes out. Not only that, it's also immediately followed by a ping in their family's DNA bank.

Sure, Mask of the Phantasm is like, early early animated batman movie, but redhead who kicks ass and Bruce so in love with her he was starting to second guess Batman and contemplate a fully civilian life before she was revealed to be a rogue? ... maybe to completely get away from any possibility of Batman, AU Bruce just backtracked his mother's lineage to a name sufficiently separated from the Kanes. Instead of Rogue and Hero, we have Maddie and Jack knocking a few years off their ages to get into college together, and history unfolds... Yeah, that plotline where they're temporarily rich complete with butler was Actual Alfred Pennyworth checking in on his boy.

So here we have sleeping on Batman's couch the ghost of what might have been, his son from the woman he loved so intensely early in his career. Boston's debrief of him being Phantom would get a grunt, and a quiet, "He takes after his mother then..."

When Danny wakes up and properly processes wh at he is seeing and hearing? He just drops his head into his hands and sighs. How did he manage this? His portals aren't perfect sure! But they usually aren't this bad!!

Danny: I'm so sorry bout this. So. Y'all know about ghosts and are ok with it? I don't have to pretend to ignore him to keep him safe?

Deadman: Oh! Awww! No. They asked me to come over and help check on you!! Since you crashed and stayed crashed for hours after falling through a portal into their house!!!

Danny: That's not embarrassing at all. Why did I have to come back as a ghost! Why couldn't I have just stayed dead dead ffs. Of course they saw me come through the portal. Urgh!

Bruce internally screaming hearing this. Various batkids around snickering and also sad. Newly found alternative brother is a ghost!! Funny as fuck though.

The idea that Danny feels the need to protect ghosts from someone who is basically a version of his dad, and especially when he’s a ghost himself, is all manner of Concerning.

…Bruce might have to have Words with his counterpart.

Yup, Bruce is going to be so normal about this. Honest he is. His counterpart's son subconsciously registers him as a threat. That's not upsetting at all. Not in any way, what dimension are you from son? He just wants to talk. Various siblings also arming up with weapons to go and have a chat with their alternate universe sibling.

Danny: Huh.... I need to introduce you guys to my clone sister! She needs more people who care about her!! And I can do interdimensional phone calls using the Realms as a ping point! Me and my best friend figured out how to make the Realms act as a phone tower! It's super cool actually!!!

All of them looking between him and Tim like.. Aww shit. Tim, you are NOT allowed to spend time with him and his bestie alone ok. No more mad science hang outs for you... Also, how do we legally get custody of a sibling from another dimension? Just asking for a friend. You have an older sister as well as your clone sister? And a future evil timeline fusion who is bound to a clone body and being redeemed? Cool cool cool.

I’m a fan of good fenton parents (like, that they’d be supportive if they found out), so I think it’d be fun if when they do meet Jack they realize he’s actually pretty nice (if intense and rather absentminded) unlike their expectations, and that Danny’s wariness stemmed from the difference in severity between Bruce and Jack.

Like, Danny was so wary of them not because of Jack is bad but because Bruce’s expression flipped an “oh no, this is serious” button in Danny’s mind due to how different it was compared to what he’s used to with Jack.

Oh, I agree. This is a world divergence that happened within Bruce’s lifetime, so Jack not only has the same genetics as Bruce but the same formative experiences. So he’s not going to be the sort of person who doesn’t change his mind when shown new evidence. He was trying to protect the world by attacking ghosts, but if he learns he’s wrong about them he will turn into their greatest advocate.

So the Bats are going to turn up fully prepared to go on the warpath, only for Jack to completely shatter their expectations as soon as he realises what’s going on.

Maddie might take a little more persuading though.

Dan doesn't look exactly like Superman so the JL think that Batman and Supes DNA got mixed, the proof is in the matching scowl.

The second Dan learns about Connor (and Supe's treatment of him.) it becomes personal.

Goes out of his way to ruin Superman's Day.

Meanwhile Batmans out there trying to be a good dad to his clone son and trying to introduce him to the family while also hoping that Clark doesn't screw anything up.

Clockwork agrees because he knows that Alfred is going to mother hen this boy so hard. Dan is about to become fully adopted into this crazy family.

Dan had no clue the madness he was about to enter. The first dinner went smooth.

Until Tim started going off about how his coffee was replaced with decaf. Damian going off about being the true blood son and challenging him to a duel. Dick ended up on the roof.

Well the home defense system wasn’t trying to kill him so it almost felt like the chaos back with the fentons.

Tim was also more then happy to help him plot against Superman. He certainly had more creative ideas and held his own grudge for how the man treated Connor.

Dan: "you know I'm not actually their clone right"

Tim: *thinking that Dan hasn't accepted the test results yet* "I know. You are your own person"

Dan only just then realized his mistake. There is no way out. Clockwork did good work. He just knows even if they redid the test he’d intervene.

It’s not like they’d buy a whole btw this was a joke cause Superman didn’t like his clone. No way they’d buy a whole master of time.

Ellie gets thrown in the loop by clockwork. To the dismay of dan. She only adds to the chaos. Announcing she was the first clone just not aged up like Dan. She immediately befriends her half “brother” Connor.

Dan and Ellie are very much being pushed more and more into the batfam. Both being lectured on eating habits and overall being mother henned.

There is no hope for Superman. Tim, Ellie, dan, and Connor are a dangerous combination.

hmm @mallowvivid had an interesting idea that would explain why Clockwork said "already done." to the request of messing with the test results, because If Danny was a half clone of Superman and Batman that the Fentons made to, oh let's say get funding, then it really already was done. I know I have seen other promts in the past like that. anyway back to the fun.

Dan was enjoying watching the Bat kids fight. He casually leans to the side to avoid a knife Damian had thrown at Tim while cutting another bite of stake. With his enhanced hearing he could catch snippets of the conversation Batman was having with Superman outside when the blue blunder had showed up uninvited. the butler was also out there with him expressing his own displeasure. While listening to mister mighty red undies get chewed out was interesting, watching the interaction of the bat kids was more entertaining.

Dick was trying to break up the fight between Tim and Damain that had started after the younger mentioned something about a caffeine addiction and the other screeched "So it was you!" and launched himself out of his chair. The eldest brother was struggling to hold back the one with eyebags almost as big as Danny's from reaching some sort of collapsible metal staff that had been hidden on the fireplace mantle, while also trying to keep the youngest from stabbing the coffee addict. "Come one Guys! We have a new brother in the house! you couldn't have given him a week before you to started going at it! Cass! a little back up here, please!"

The quiet Asian girl that Dan had forgot was there gracefully rose from her seat to help. Then the Blond girl that she had been sitting next to spoke to Dan. "So you seem to be taking this well. No questions about our standard family interactions?" Dan shrugged "Nah. Back home someone would have accidentally set off the security system by now and I'd be dodging lasers while eating. This is just entertaining."

Now the last person at the table perked up, Dan thinks he was called Duke or something like that but hadn't paid enough attention to remember. "Is that the lab you were made at or are you living with someone?"

everyone else in the family of detectives must have sensed there was potential new information as even the two youngest paused in their fight to listen. Dan thought for a moment trying to figure out an answer that would mess with them but not reveal too much or mention Danny or Ellie. He swears they are like Beetlejuice you mention their name and suddenly they will appear.

"My creators don't really get along. So, I mostly stay with one but anytime they are together they shoot at each other." Dan that would be vague enough of a description of Vlad and Danny. It got some rather funny if distressed expressions from the bat kids, so he accomplished one of his goals.

Then he heard a ghostly bark and his sense of satisfaction disappeared. He heard a shout from the men outside before a giant glowing green dog and a 10-year-old looking girl riding on it came barreling into the dining room. Dan Groaned.

"There you are! I've been looking all over for you. Had to get Cujo to track you down." She said as she floated down to pat the glowing dog that has now shrunk to puppy size. "Jazz said you missed your session with her, and you didn't show up for dinner, and Danny couldn't find you and who are all these people?"

By the end of her questions, she was still floating in the middle of the room slowly spinning to look at everyone. before her eyes landed on superman Bruce and Alfred in the doorway. Bruce took that as his queue.

"I am Bruce Wayne and those are my children. We had invited Dan over for dinner. Dan would you please introduce this young lady."

"Ugh, Fine Ellie, meet superman and the other guy who thinks I am a mixed clone of them. Jerk face and Bruce this is Ellie short for Danielle, another clone."

Ellie giggled and easily caught the messages of "play along" and "mischief" Dan was silently sending form his core. and desided to mess with Dan. "oh and why didn't you tell them about me or Danny Little brother? By the way I was made first, but out creator didn't care enough about me to age me up like him. "Gasp' Cujo go fetch danny! he is going to love all of this!"

Something about Danny's mannerisms remind Alfred of Thomas after coming back from a long day of surgeries whereas Conner and Dan's mannerisms remind Bruce of Jor El from his hacking research in the Fortress of Solitude

The Wayne manor dining room had already seen its fair share of chaos, but nothing could have prepared the Wayne family for the whirlwind that was Danny Fenton's actual family.

Grey Fenton, a blond woman who looked like a bizarro version of Sam Manson, stood by the doorway. Her purple eyes blazed with an intensity that made even Damian Wayne take a step back. She wore a hand-knitted wool sweater, a pair of knitting needles holding her hair up in a messy bun that somehow looked both practical and intimidating.

"Dan," she said, her voice carrying the same sharp edge as Sam's, "do you have any idea what you could have done by dragging Danny away from the hospital?"

Dan raised his hands defensively. "In my defense, Dani gave the order."

Grey's gaze slowly turned to Dani, who suddenly looked much smaller than a moment ago. The clone shrunk back, clearly remembering some previous encounter with this formidable stranger.

"I don't need to chew you out," Grey said, a dangerous smile playing on her lips. "I've already got my pound of flesh from future you."

Dan leaned over to Danny, whispering, "Your wife is scary."

Danny's response was immediate and filled with pure adoration. "Isn't she great?"

The tension was broken by the arrival of two young girls. One had jet-black hair that matched Dani's, the other a vibrant red that reminded everyone of Jazz. They stood on either side of the actual Jazz, all three munching on popcorn as if they were watching the most entertaining show imaginable.

Dan couldn't help but comment, "I see we keep the trend of one black hair and one redhead."

Dani turned to the mini-version of herself. "So are you a de-aged me?"

The girl looked up, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Oh no, I'm not a de-aged you. You're actually dead by the time I was born. I'm Danielle Delilah Fenton, or Didi for short."

The redhead girl chimed in, "And I'm Bluesette, or Blues for short."

The Wayne family exchanged looks of bewilderment. Just when they thought they had Danny figured out, he revealed another layer of complexity. First a surgeon, and now with a wife who could make even the most hardened vigilante nervous, and children who seemed to have inherited the family's particular brand of chaos.

Danny caught Bruce's eye and gave a sheepish grin. "So," he said casually, "want to hear about my last surgery?"

The popcorn-munching continued, a silent commentary on the absolute normalcy of such an introduction in the Fenton household.

But what if it was Dan instead of Danny?

Dan doesn't look exactly like Superman so the JL think that Batman and Supes DNA got mixed, the proof is in the matching scowl.

And Dan's like "Well, I've got nothing better to do, so why not? Lets mess with this guy."

The second Dan learns about Connor (and Supe's treatment of him.) it becomes personal.

Goes out of his way to ruin Superman's Day.

Looking awesome while saving the day? Nope, his cape gets wrapped around his head and then that picture gets into papers and every social media platform.

About to hand over thug? Mysterious farting noises.

Dan: Hey Clockwork you mind messing with some test results for me?

Clockwork: Already done.

Meanwhile Batmans out there trying to be a good dad to his clone son and trying to introduce him to the family while also hoping that Clark doesn't screw anything up.

Clockwork agrees because he knows that Alfred is going to mother hen this boy so hard. Dan is about to become fully adopted into this crazy family.

Dan had no clue the madness he was about to enter. The first dinner went smooth.

Until Tim started going off about how his coffee was replaced with decaf. Damian going off about being the true blood son and challenging him to a duel. Dick ended up on the roof.

Well the home defense system wasn’t trying to kill him so it almost felt like the chaos back with the fentons.

Tim was also more then happy to help him plot against Superman. He certainly had more creative ideas and held his own grudge for how the man treated Connor.

Dan: "you know I'm not actually their clone right"

Tim: *thinking that Dan hasn't accepted the test results yet* "I know. You are your own person"

Dan only just then realized his mistake. There is no way out. Clockwork did good work. He just knows even if they redid the test he’d intervene.

It’s not like they’d buy a whole btw this was a joke cause Superman didn’t like his clone. No way they’d buy a whole master of time.

Ellie gets thrown in the loop by clockwork. To the dismay of dan. She only adds to the chaos. Announcing she was the first clone just not aged up like Dan. She immediately befriends her half “brother” Connor.

Dan and Ellie are very much being pushed more and more into the batfam. Both being lectured on eating habits and overall being mother henned.

There is no hope for Superman. Tim, Ellie, dan, and Connor are a dangerous combination.

hmm @mallowvivid had an interesting idea that would explain why Clockwork said "already done." to the request of messing with the test results, because If Danny was a half clone of Superman and Batman that the Fentons made to, oh let's say get funding, then it really already was done. I know I have seen other promts in the past like that. anyway back to the fun.

With his enhanced hearing he could catch snippets of the conversation Batman was having with Superman outside when the blue blunder had showed up uninvited. the butler was also out there with him expressing his own displeasure. While listening to mister mighty red undies get chewed out was interesting, watching the interaction of the bat kids was more entertaining.

Dick was trying to break up the fight between Tim and Damain that had started after the younger mentioned something about a caffeine addiction and the other screeched "So it was you!" and launched himself out of his chair. The eldest brother was struggling to hold back the one with eyebags almost as big as Danny's from reaching some sort of collapsible metal staff that had been hidden on the fireplace mantle, while also trying to keep the youngest from stabbing the coffee addict. "Come one Guys! We have a new brother in the house! you couldn't have given him a week before you to started going at it! Cass! a little back up here, please!"

The quiet Asian girl that Dan had forgot was there gracefully rose from her seat to help. Then the Blond girl that she had been sitting next to spoke to Dan. "So you seem to be taking this well. No questions about our standard family interactions?" Dan shrugged "Nah. Back home someone would have accidentally set off the security system by now and I'd be dodging lasers while eating. This is just entertaining."

Danny goes to a new School

So! When Danny got expelled from his High School, it wasn't really a big Suprise. He had missed for too many days or just walked out in the middle of Class, and his grades were lower than anyone else in the school. It was just a matter of time really.

When confronted by his Parents, he had just claimed that it was the constant ghost attacks getting to him (not a total lie) and that he was sorry.

Well, his parents tried to help.

After hearing about his supposed Fear of Ghosts, they decided that it was a good idea for him to go to school somewhere outside of Amity Park, so he could focus on his Schoolwork and not be distracted by the constant Attacks.

Of course no School wanted to accept a problem student like Danny, so they were forced to look into alternative schools to find one that would accept him. And they did! So they had Danny pack his bags, promise to call regularly, and shipped him off to his new School.

Danny: Look, when you're a small town vigilante forced to attend supervillain school, you need all the extra credit points you can get

Danny could totally attack GiW bases with the rest of his study group under the excuse of wanting to crush the competition

The rest of his study group isn't totally convinced that Danny is evil but he's clearly chaotic enough on top of

- be able to repair or improve their equipment on the fly on the battlefield

-be good at hiding if things get out of hand and then free them AND can drive almost any vehicle for their escape AND loyal enough to do it!

-is a good cool-headed support shooter but is also surprisingly good at dodging or taking melee hits

So even if Danny is not a big evil mastermind, his whole group is aware that he is a valuable ally to keep at their side so if to keep him happy they just have to blow up meta racist assholes, the question to do or not doesn't even arise

The worst part about going to villain school, in Danny's opinion, is that he has to defend it. If the school gets shut down by heroes, the school itself will lose accreditation, and there goes his shiny new A- average.

For the first time since he got his powers, Danny is well rested, keeping on top of his homework, and actually understanding what he's being taught. Also, he's not getting laughed at or shoved into lockers by Dash Baxter every day.

So maybe he's enjoying going to villain school, just a little bit. It's not like he's actually a bad guy.

Also, tussling with the Titans now and then makes up for the lack of ghost fighting - who'd have thought he'd miss that?

DC XDP prompt: Danny falls out of a portal literally into Batmans arms in a JL meeting.

Feel free to play with this. I probably will write more, but I'm STUCK and don't know how to write the JL or anyone else for that matter.

The Justice League meeting had gone very well. For once there were no major crisis from anyone attending, and all of the regular members of the league were in attendance. A few of the second row hero’s had begged off for one reason or another, but nothing that was a threat of any real kind.

Batman was wary, and on edge as the meeting wrapped up. It was never this simple, it just couldn’t be. There was always some kind of threat to keep an eye on, but the worst thing that had come up during the meeting were routine security updates.

No one else seemed to be on edge from the far too calm, routine meeting, and Bruce had just about convinced himself that it was really just one of those meetings where nothing outrageous would happen. It was ideal even…

Then the alarms went off, in the specific modulation that indicated a magical incursion.

Batman wasn’t the only one who’s hands went to weapons when the portal materialized above the meeting room table only a moment after the alarm went off. Swirling lazarus green had him ready for the fight even as the rest of the league went into defensive positions around the incursion.

“What…” Flash started to ask about a minute later when nothing had happened yet, the alarms still blaring.

That’s when something came flying out of the portal, at speed, back first.

Batman had a split second to decide to attack… or not. A split second to try to process the impressions and decide if this was an attack.

The portal closed as he cradled the small body that had crashed into his arms, the alarms silencing a moment later as the rest of the league tried to catch up, all of them wondering if this was some new threat.

Batman looked down at the child in his arms, a boy in his mid teens and small for his age, with white hair framing a frighteningly familiar looking face, gently pointed ears, and fangs in a mouth that gasped for breath against pain. The eyes were closed, twisted tight as the child clutched at his chest and belly, holding together severed flesh that leaked lazarus green blood from a clinical and too regular wound. Fingers tipped with small claws spasmed, tears coming from closed eyes.

“Batman?” Wonder Woman asked, Diana’s voice filled with concern as Bruce wrapped the child in his arms and stood up from where he had been knocked on his ass catching said child.

“Call down to medical. Severely wounded unknown,” he snapped, moving towards the door, only to stop as there was a flash of light in his arms, and the child suddenly gained a solid weight that was closer to human. The blood dripping from passed out hands was now brilliant red, fingertips blunt with chewed nails, the boy’s skin going from pale white to… a healthier tone.

Bruce consciously stopped cataloging his observations then, swiftly making his way to medical. Whatever this boy was, whether he intended to tug at Batman’s heart the way he was or not, was severely wounded and needed medical attention immediately.

He could process it all, and wonder why a child looking exactly like Damian Wayne had been thrown into his arms through a lazarus portal later.

An hour later, after a discreet call to his youngest just to be sure, Bruce watched the now sedated child in the medical cot, working on trying to face match the databases and find out if the child came from earth or not.

The searches primarily turned up Damian Wayne. Bruce knew for certain this child was not his son, but he was also running a DNA analysis because this Might be his son. It made a disheartening amount of sense for this boy to be another version of Damien, perhaps from another dimension, or some manner of clone, or perhaps Talia had simply hidden another child of his away… Bruce needed to narrow down the possibilities, to find the truth.

Of course, it was equally possible that this boy was some manner of mimic, taking on a form that would ensure his safety in unknown environment, a shape shifter intentionally injuring himself in order to infiltrate the Watchtower. Though that last theory didn’t make sense for a number of reasons. Most shape shifters would be secure enough in their abilities to simply try to mimic someone who already had access to the watch tower, to say nothing of the boy’s dramatic entrance.

Batman wasn’t thinking logically. Bruce couldn’t simply leave the boy here though. Not until he knew more, everything relevant by preference. The thought that this might be his son in any way was enough to keep him near, but he could already tell he was compromised.

He had already informed Diana and Clark, and both of them had agreed that he should stay nearby until they had the situation sorted out.

Bruce had been stuck in a circular though pattern for about fifteen minutes when a green form came into the room, J’onn looking at him calmly.

“Can you find anything out?” Batman asked without preamble, unable to bring himself to observe polite pleasantries when he was so unsettled.

“Nothing beyond surface thoughts. The boy’s mind is static and pain of the emotional kind,” J’onn stated after a moment.

Batman nodded, accepting the answer. J’onn’s abilities weren’t always the answer to everything, could indeed often be a crutch that led to the wrong answers. But they could also give the Justice League a starting point often enough.

“You should rest friend. It is unlikely that the boy will awaken soon…” J’onn cut himself off with a quiet look at the boy. “Or not. He’s coming around.”

Batman watched as the child’s eyes blinked open, drowsy expression turning to the two heros without much recognition. Bruce didn’t let himself react, kept himself in a calm pose even as his mind once more went into overdrive.

The boy had blue eyes, not green like Damian's.

Blue eyes. Like his.

They were glazed over by pain and medication, but they were definitely blue. Soft, like the sky.

Unless there was a mutation during the cloning process, this was not just a version of Damian. This was someone entirely new. Someone he had no idea existed.

The boy blinks in a daze and then looks down at his wrapped torso, hand coming up to feel the gauze separating his skin from the filtered air.

Bruce is by the bed with his glove around the thin wrist before he can process he moved.

The boy looks up at him again, this time Bruce can see the confusion in his expression as he actively tries to process what was happening.

Bruce blinks back, then clears his throat.

“You were heavily injured. Our medical team managed to finish surgery only three hours ago. You’re still healing.”

There. Just the facts. Concise. Easy.

The boy makes a noise Bruce can’t decipher, but J’onn picks up the slack.

“You came through a portal.”

His expression is blank for a moment, likely his brain catching him up after whatever trauma he suffered.

“Oh,” he croaks. “Tryin’ ta… safe.”

He was trying to get to somewhere safe. Someone safe.

“You are safe here, young one. You succeeded.”

He stares back at J’onn for a long moment. Bruce didn’t know how to feel about being ignored or how to interrupt the silence.

“‘m I dreaming?”

“No. You are awake.”

He blinks again and then a dopey smile spreads across his face.

“Y’r my fav’rite.”

Bruce… is not jealous. Not at all.

“I’m honored. To whom should I have the pleasure to give my autograph to?”

“‘m Danny,” the boy says with a yawn.

Danny. Not Damian.

Bruce knew he wasn’t a clone, but this was a step in the right direction of proving it.

(His son’s name was Danny.)

“You should get some rest. Someone will be in to check on you later.”

He wasn’t going to confess that it was most likely going to be him doing the checking. And if ‘later’ meant 10 minutes from now, no one would say a thing about it.

“M’kay,” Danny mumbles. He was back asleep before the thought even finished.

Bruce notices he’s still holding the boy’s wrist and carefully places it by his side before letting go.

He needed to make a few phone calls and check to see if the DNA results were back.

“Shall I wait here with him?”

He did want someone with him if he woke up again.

“He did say I was his favorite. He would be comfortable.”

Bruce scowls hard at the alien. His footfalls are heavy as he leaves.

Imagine that Danny is Damian, just from a different dimension? And if Talia either gave Danny up to the Fenton's, the Fenton's found Danny and adopted him, or Jack is Bruce while Maddie is some amalgamation between Talia and Phantasma, his ex's? GIW killed his family and experimented on him?

What could be even more bonkers?

Danny is Bruce, from a different dimension. Having just lost his parents and being used as a lab rat. So Bruce has to confront a freshly traumatized version of himself. And it kinda puts him off the adoption sense, cause how would he explain this if it ever got out? And it's himself! He knows what he was like right after his parents died. But this one became a Vigilante before that!

Funnily enough, a 23 Tim swoops in to take custody of the baby bat.

Unfortunately for Danny, Tim is alternate version os a guy Danny knows. A creepy stalker that takes photos of a vigilante and makes clones of dead ones. Tim is Vlad

The Drake Surname.

A joke the fandom has been making for a while is that Tim is forever stuck at 17. What if we make that something the rest of the Batclan notice too? (I am not following cannon.)

It was just after the annual Family picture day and the new group portrait was taking the place of last year’s and looking at it they noticed 15 year old Damian is now almost the same height as Tim. And Tim is pretty much the same as last year.

Jason and Damian take the opportunity to tease Tim calling him a shrimp and other short jokes. Which Tim rolls his eyes and goes to work on a case or something with Wayne industries. But Bruce, Dick, and Alfred are more concerned, may feel guilty thinking letting him be a vigilante stunted his growth. And looking back at the photos they have of him notice that he wasn’t growing as much as a normal teen boy should have.

Bruce decides he is going to be more active in running Wayne Enterprises while Alfred plots to cut back Tim’s coffee limit. And Dick is going to help out coordinate the patrols. (He had to move back to Gotham when the Bludhaven city spirit forced all the people out before the city got blown up. It’s a long story but dick has been really down and unmotivated after that.)

Tim is not taking any of this well, and feels like his family being stifling. So he decided to start going through the basement and vault of Drake manor. Which he has been putting off since he didn’t really have time for it between patrols and WE. And in the family heirlooms vault, shoved way in the back with covered in dust and many other things sitting on top, he finds an oak box with an ornately caved dragon on it. Opening it up he finds it is velvet lined and has a large pendant that looks a silver dragon curled deep violet amethyst egg. And next to the pendant is a scroll made of thin leather.

He pulled out the scroll first and tried to read it but it was too faint of lettering to make out in the somewhat dim vault light. But what little he could make out it it was really old 14th century English and mentioned something about a coming of age. He rolls it back up and puts it aside to instead pick up the pendant. When he touches it there is a faint static shock that surprises him other then that the silver and purple necklace doesn’t seem out of the ordinary.

His phone lets off a chime to remind him that diner is in an hour, so he pack the pendant and scroll back in the box and places it in his bag with a few other items he finds interesting and wanted to look into more later. Then returns to Wayne manor to eat before patrol. It isn’t until he wakes up the next morning he realizes that he should have probably read the scroll before touching the pendant.

He wakes up to knocking on his bedroom door and someone yelling at him to get up. He had gotten into the habit of locking his door back when Damian first moved in. He yelps in surprise, falling over because his center of balance is all out of whack when he tried to stand. Now he is fully awake and takes stock of himself.

Scales?

Scales! Why are his arms covered in scales?! His hands look like a mix of paws and talons. He struggles out of the sheets to look at the rest of himself. His pjs are stretched and torn in places to accommodate the new digigrade shape of his legs. Not to mention he now has a long tail and wings and a longer neck. He rushes to his personal bathroom and awkwardly stands up on his two legs so he can get a good look in the mirror. And yep that is a distressed dragon face looking back at him. He catches himself making a weird keening sound as he plops down to sit on the bathroom floor.

Moments later he hears the sound of his bedroom door’s lock being picked. Bruce calling his name and Duke explaining he had heard animal noises from the room. Tim scrabbles to try and get the balcony door unlocked so he can escape and find a way to change back before anyone can see him, but moving on all fours and the new talon hands he is not used too take up too much time and the bedroom door is open.

Living in a family of vigilantes, their reaction time and fight or flight instincts are quick, and Tim is tackled to the floor by Duke while the others start looking at every inch of the room for clues as to what happened to their seemingly missing brother.

Bruce is looking at the dragon in Tim’s pajamas for a second before saying, “Tim? Is that you chum?”

Tim tries to answer but all that comes out is a warbling chuff. Which takes Tim by surprise and has him nearly start to cry in panic. He can’t Talk!

“Hey, you’re ok Tim. Deep breaths. Duke get off him. Breath with me Tim. In 1, 2, 3, 4. Out 1, 2, 3, 4.” Bruce spoke in his soothing a scared child voice. Tim was half annoyed at himself for how much it helped.

“B, Look at this!” Dick said holding the box with the scroll and dragon pendent instead open. Now the gem is a very pale see through purple with only a sliver on the bottom the original color.

They take it down to the bat cave and get to work deciphering the scroll. Turns out the Drake family line are descendants of some ancient medieval prince named Aragorn and that there was a family tradition that on the sixteenth birthday the child would have to live a year in dragon form to let it catch up in maturity. But after the dragon form catches up they will be able to freely shift between forms. But if they don’t follow the tradition they don’t age properly, and the longer they put off the tradition the longer they have to spend as a dragon.

And that is all I had time for before bed. So who does this affect the family dynamic? What about the relationship between Tim and Damian? How do we bring Danny Phantom into this? Does he think Tim is a ghost dragon at first?

That being said Tim is six years older then Damian. And Damian was dropped off at 10, so Tim was 16 then. So he has unintentionally been puttering off dragon time for 5 years. Meaning he is stuck as a dragon for 5 years if they don’t find another way to get him to change back. Which given the tags above they already tried and it made it worse. Hmm should w make it so any time he tries to go back to human early it adds more time to the dragon clock?

Referring back to the tags do you think it was Zattanna or someone who tried to reverse it which worked temporarily before he transformed back in public? And I think he would have waited till he had that temporary reversal before going back on patrol.

Also does anyone want to take a stab at the media, and public’s reactions? Oh better yet his friends from young justice coming over to cheer him up after the public transformation, and they are watching the media reaction with him.

Oh and the media blitz is how Danny Phantom sees the transformation and it looks like the ones he has seen with Dorothea and aragorns medallions. So he thinks it is ghost related.

Leave it at one year. Call the run, Year of the Dragon (like the Chinese zodiac). This would be the best way to remove Tim from Batman completely. He's now magic. The bats don't do magic, and this is CLEARLY a job for the JLDark.

Curse is the right idea. Making tim do dragon for 5 years while stuck at a beast is a bad call. That's like 5 centuries in comic time. Too much happens over the course of a year in comics for this to be viable.

Zatanna could enchant something for him to talk easily enough. Magic is good like that. The House of Mystery would have some help for Tim, it's good like that. Constantine is busy on a demon case in Edinburgh.

As for Danny, seeing someone turn into a dragon on a YouTube video would have him looking into it. I'm going with canon Danny here. Not king, not running a Realm, just a guy. We'll place time after the last season by a year. So Amity is in good hands, with ethical doctors Fenton and Red H. Jazz is on a scholarship to Coast City University double major in psychology and kinesiology.

Finding the dragon is pretty damn easy. What they do with it is anyone's guess. I'm just here for some setup/prompt.

They steal its Amulet. That’s what they do.

With their experience, taking the amulet will solve the problem. So a tiny futuristic space ship phases through the walls in Wayne manor, a glowing werewolf jumps out to grab the magic amulet, and then the space ship phases through the floor and is gone.

Tim: Somebody get that amulet! I need it so I can age!

Jason and Damian meet in the LoA AU where Damian vehemently insists that Jason is his only real brother since they have the same mother and father. The others try to tell him that Jason is also adopted, but Damian will just stare at them like they are stupid and go "is Father not his Father in the eyes of the law?"

"Well, yeah, but-"

"Does Mother not call him as her son?"

"I mean she does-"

"Are they not my Mother and Father as well?"

"Yes?"

I see this but counter: Tim starts being referred to as Grandmother (in reference to Ra's constantly selfshipping with Tim).

It is only when he wishes to be as annoying as humanly possible, such as when Tim steals the last of the almond milk Damian likes to use in hot cocoa. (Yeah he's vegetarian and can still consume dairy, but maybe he just likes the varied flavor profile ok?)

what's funny is an old guy getting deaged and trying to get with Tim is well within reason for the general public in DC so people could legit think Damian is serious

All 2D games should be sprites

Danny's human form ages like normal, but his default form as Phantom is still the 14y/o he was at his time of death. Luckily he can change that with concentration, since his ghost form is malleable. But he has to a) have the time to enact the change and b) consciously maintain his form. His superhero colleagues don't know he's half alive, so he's typically got his adult ghost form firmly in place before they meet. While fighting a powerful enemy, Phantom's concentration slips and he reverts to child form. Doesn't matter, it's just aesthetics and the enemy is what's important. He’s equally strong in his 14 y/o form. Except, his colleagues are very concerned to “discover” that their teammate is a child who has been lying about his age all this time. So now Danny has to figure out how to convince them that he's just looked 14 for over a decade now, or bite the bullet and show them all his secret identity. Preferably before they demote him to a team of teen heroes, or he gets forcibly adopted.

“You’re secretly a child??”

“No, I just DIED when I was a kid. It takes effort to look my actual age. Sorry.”

“…WHAT?”

Danny concentrates before his form starts shifting, his head dividing into halves and growing into full heads. Fingers sprout from his fingers, sprouting from his fingers. A second pair of legs grows from his back. His two head slam together to create a cyclops before his height shoots up and he's back in the Phantom form they're familiar with

I have seen a lot of post where Spider-Man gets sent to Gotham because Dr strange’s memory erasing spell means he can’t stay in the marvel universe anymore, and get adopted by the batfam. But there are not a lot of fics with him and young justice. (Unless you count tiny one shots.)

But what if he landed somewhere else? What if typical Parker luck caused him to enter the dc universe somewhere less favorable because that is where the action would be happening next?

I am going to have the portal spit him out in the underground levels of Cadmus labs on the day that Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad go to investigate the fire but end up rescuing Superboy. In fact I think I will have his sudden appearance be why the main psychic genomorph decided to do the fire that day instead of later like planned.

So Cadmus security is already distracted and busy trying to catch one intruder that they miss the side kicks arising and entering through the express elevator. Robin hacks the system and finds project Kr and that there seems to be an “asset” trying to escape. They search and Find Spidey first and since aren’t setting off the spider sense like everything else in the building is he quickly agrees to go with them.

Then they go down to the level project Kr is on, and like in the episode, release the clone. Peter’s Spider sense goes off and he intercepts the attack. Because Superboy is only half kryptonian and hasn’t had natural sunlight yet they are evenly matched strength wise, but Superboy is a tad faster. It isn’t until the scientist Desmond orders the psychic genomorph to psy-blast Spidey that Superboy gets the upper hand and takes him and the other side kicks out.

The rest of the escape happens like in the episode where Superboy changes sides and rescues them from the cloning lab. Then they fight the roided up Desmond/Blockbuster and bring the building down on the former scientist.

When the Justice league gets there and the explain what happened, the adults of course also ask who Spider-man is. Fortunately Robin and Kid Flash made it seem like he was an escaping clone and Peter has the presence of mind to go with the cover story they accidentally gave. So he will be staying in the young justice base with Superboy.

Ok lunch is ending for me, so let’s see what other people can add onto this.

Peter has the worst luck. But he's Amazing so he'll fit right in.

He really does have the worst Luck but that is what makes it such a great running gag.

Ha could even have a point latter on where Robin says “ugh the only way we are going to find these guys is through really dumb luck!” And they all turn to look at Spidey.

That would make for a good set of comic panels

It would make some nice comic panels. And I think we can work in @ourrechte-blog idea of them thinking he may be a “clone” of Wonder Woman.

“Wha- no. Oh no. My luck is nothing but bad. You don’t want to follow it.” Spider-Man sputters.

“Actually that’s not quite accurate.” Kid Flash responded as he pulls up statistics graphs on the bio ship’s holographic display. “You luck points you to wherever the most action or important event happens. Freaky reminiscent of the tragic heroes of Greek mythology.”

Peter slumped mor in his chair pouting. “I thought we were over the Wonder Woman clone theory.”

“I have to agree. There’s no way your lanky awkwardness is related to someone as built as her. ” Superboy teased.

“Regardless,” Aqualad said, cutting off any further argument. “Robin and Kid Flash have a point that you have a tendency to find important things unintentionally.”

“Yeah so what’s that magic spider sense telling you?” Miss Martian prompted. Kid Flash scoffed at the word magic but they had all learned to ignore him by now.

"“I have to agree. There’s no way your lanky awkwardness is related to someone as built as her. ” Superboy teased."

I don't know, that lankiness might actually point towards the clone theory more because his muscles are clearly magically enhanced to have strength matching a freshly released and buff Conner. Obviously, he'll grow once the real fights start.

Like how end of series DB/start of Z Goku is clearly not as buff as end Z because his Saiyan muscles are just worth more than earthling muscles
