Another year has come and gone but things have hardly changed in Gaza. Israel has resumed the bombing, targeting civil workers/medics and children, while the world watches and harasses diaspora Palestinians and allies who have protested against the genocide. My friend Siraj in his previous post has said that Palestinians and Gazans do not need prayers. They do nothing for them...what is needed is action and material support. So please do whatever you can to help my friend. Please donate to his Chuffed and if you can't then please boost his fundraiser.
Also I want you to remember that Gofundme is complicit in this genocide! I cannot in good sense call it anything else. They have unfairly deleted thousands of Gazan fundraisers, which are basically the only lifelines for many families; they have also blocked community projects like the Sameer Project from accessing funds ( at least that's what I saw the last time I checked).
I am requesting you to not let this slide. My friend Siraj lost 32k when the fundraising site in their callousness deleted two of his fundraisers back to back without giving any valid reason. So if you have donated in October-December of 2024, and in January of 2025 ( this second fundraiser was run by Siraj's sister Fatima), please ask for a refund. The site has to give back the money by their own policy, as they allow refund requests upto a year. Please help my friend access these lifesaving funds.
3 days ago, zero donation 5 days ago, only 10 euros donation 9 days ago, I've been appealing to people of conscience to raise €5,000 to buy Eid clothes and cover the costs of displacement. Unfortunately, we couldn't buy Eid clothes, and the holiday is over. Now, the situation has become more dangerous, and we must evacuate quickly before we die from the bombing of the occupation's air force. Please help us, as we are in grave danger.
We haven’t had bread for days… The war on Gaza continues, the blockade is suffocating us, and bakeries have completely shut down. The situation is beyond tragic—children, families, everyone is starving. We need every voice, every bit of support, every share to make the world hear our cry. Please don’t ignore our suffering.
"We are trapped in a nightmare from which we cannot wake up. I developed a severe sensitivity to the smoke and phosphorus, and I began to suffer from respiratory issues. To this day, I continue to struggle with the effects of phosphorus exposure, and I have not found any treatment to alleviate my condition, which worsens day by day. After fleeing to southern Gaza, we now live in a very small tent. We have no home, no food, and we are not living a humane life with even the minimum necessities."

My son once came back from a record shop visit with his uncle and with wide eyes and excited smile presented me with a cassette tape. “Look what I found!” As though he’d unearthed ancient pottery at a dig sight.
I love it. I love when my kids discover something that I take for granted. I hear songs with new ears because they are in a state of wonder. My son played me “Paint it Black” the other day, I’m like yeah Rolling Stones so what? And then I see his face and that LOOK like he just discovered sunsets and he’s like yeah but listen to this part, listen to the guitar right here - and I hear a song anew. Like watching a puppy see a bird for the first time, and oh oh right yeah birds are fucking amazing, forgot about that.
#finally a comment that doesn’t have disdain for kids discovering old things #isn’t it cool that someone didn’t know Queen and they got to hear it for the first time? #isn’t it cool to witness that excitement?
I think this is largely why “react” channels on YouTube have become so popular. Watching someone experience something you love for the first time is exciting. Rediscovering that thing through their eyes is also exciting.
I can never judge anyone for not knowing about "Bohemian Rhapsody" when I remember how many people my age first learned it from Wayne's World.
Having empathy is morally neutral. Not having empathy is morally neutral. Having high empathy is morally neutral. Having low empathy is morally neutral.
Empathy is not what makes you a good or bad person. Actions do, feeling don't.
