howdy, partner, welcome to my humble abode.

here are some things to know on your tour:

- my name is Raz, and I like all pronouns, but prefer he/she/it the most

- I mostly talk in tags because I'm kind of shy! so if you aren't a Tag Enjoyer this is going to be a boring trip for you.

- I post occasional art, meta, and writing, but mainly shitposts. high effort things are under the tag 'raspberry tart' while shitposts are under 'raspberry jam' or 'raspberry rambles'.

- I am white and was raised christian and try my best to be an ally, but if I say/do/make something offensive, please call me out on it as you are able.

- I swear a lot, so if that's not safe for you, it may not be a good idea to go any father.

- if you're usually on dni lists... you know who you are and what to do. I don't tolerate bigotry or intolerance of any kind, nor pedophilia and incest (be it real or shipped)

- headcanon, fanfic, and fanart to requests are always open. as well as asks. im lonely :(

- that's all, folks!

enjoy your stay

Maybe being good at social media should not be the main qualifier for all creative work

Seeing the notes on this talk about all the other careers that I hadn't even considered being affected by this is just depressing. What do you mean you need to be Instagram famous to have a career as a hairdresser?

cw: cannabilism

Just finished the fourth episode of MisMag s2 and am now contemplating the cannibalism inherent to Seegenpelater.

When the whaleship Essex sank, the survivors refused to seek refuge on an island because they believed the people there were cannibals. Eventually a lifeboat of survivors pulled straws to see who they would eat to survive: a man killed and ate his own nephew. I'm thinking about how, when they were rescued, the sailors refused to let go of the boy's finger bones. I'm thinking about a willingness to eat the ones you love because you wouldn't let anything challenge your worldview, your expectations of superiority and order, and now you've dug yourself too deep.

I'm thinking about how Lemli killed two people to make 206 magical objects per person. I'm thinking about how she snapped their bones one by one, from the femur all the way down to the tiniest bones in the ear. Who were they? Were they strangers? Perhaps friends, part of that crew unwilling to go into the NAMP world? Did they die willingly? Naturally? Or did Lemli indulge her favorite hobby, leading her victims to the sea? Where did she keep the bones? And where is Hoggle?

I'm thinking about the fact that familiars are extensions of the self, and how the people on Seegenpelater have slaughtered them just to get another hit of magic. How the mechanics of the game make it so when you have done enough magic, you can gain a magic item; the idea that you can then break that item to do more magic. I'm thinking about cannibalism as self-devouring in addition to the devouring of ones like oneself.

And perhaps most horrifying, I'm thinking about the fact that—had Evan not stuffed her in a body bag—Philtrum would probably be scrapped for magic, consumed piece by piece by the very people she convinced such cannibalism was necessary. Would she consider it a kindness that Evan spared her body from such a desecration (assuming the Pilot Program doesn't resort to using her bones later), or would she be outraged at the waste, and his denying her a chance at being a martyr like Professor Viniscus?

Daily reminder: Transphobia actively contributes to sexism. If you don’t fit the beauty standard and are seen as masculine in any way shape or form, you are seen as transgender and as a “problem”

I think it's incredibly important here to not overlook the fact that she is a Black woman. Transphobia, racism, and sexism overlap significantly because of the incredibly eurocentric beauty standards women are judged on.

hot take possibly? but i actually think it’s okay for things to be marketed for adults. it’s literally okay if things aren’t suitable for children. i feel like we are losing the plot
