writing fanfiction is just. i’m being so creative and original. i’m plagiarizing everyone by accident. i’m a genius. i’m cringe. i’m too angsty. i’m too cheesy. this is not in character. it doesn’t matter that it’s not in character because these are my characters now. i love my hobby. this is the worst possible use of my time. i’m seeking validation. i’m projecting my own personal problems onto this story and i’m barely hiding it. i know so many words and i’m using all of them wrong. im on tumblr posting about it instead of writing it.

What was the first property/media you read fanfiction online for?  🌈

Sometimes I forget young people exist. I’m seeing people saying that their first fic was for FNaF or Good Omens or even MLP and I’m like “Haha wow that’s all pretty new, you must have been on the internet for a while before encountering fanfiction!” 

And then the “oh no” hits. 

So I have a follow-up question: What’s the first website you read fanfiction on? Mine was Quizilla, which doesn’t even exist any more! 

#i think x-men was my first?#i was in the fifth grade#just googling ‘x-men stories’#and discovered ff.net#but ALSO i remember frequenting specific fanfic sites#especially when i got into buffy#there was one fic#and it was on a like. maroon website#and the title had something to do with horses#and it was about buffy losing her virginity to angel#i don’t remember how graphic it was#but i remember it being essential to my sexual awakening lol#ALSO i learned about the clitoris through fanfiction#so there’s that lol
