IDGAF if the women in my fiction are empowering or aspirational, I'm an adult, I don't need role models, I want the women in my fiction to be interesting, and if that involves being pathetic, hypocritical, amoral, or trapped in a delightfully dysfunctional relationship so be it

how do people not know where the clit is like it’s right there. it’s not even funny it’s right there

I think we need to work to get away from this idea that a queer story is inherently about two or more characters of the same gender ending up together

A story about a bi character ending up with someone of a different gender is still a queer story.

A story about aro characters in a queerplatonic relationship is a queer story, regardless of gender.

A story about trans or nonbinary characters is a queer story, not matter who they end up.

A story can be queer even if nobody ends up in a primary relationship. A story can be queer even if nobody falls in love or has sex.

i love re-consuming media i used to love when i was younger. like wow! child me still is in me i am holding her hand and keeping her safe and doing her favorite things with her!!!!

I don't know how to phrase this, but I feel like autism acceptance in the public eye is less about actually accepting all autistic people and more about creating this image of autism that's like funky quirky hand flappy disorder. Like everyone wants an autistic friend who can rattle off cool facts about random subjects or an uwu soft bean who they must protect! And so many people put emphasis on hyper empathy and "so many of us are actually really empathetic uwu".

But what all of that completely ignores is there are negative sides to autism and we will sometimes do things that piss you off. No one wants to deal with the meltdowns or the complete and utter lack of empathy or the anger and the depression. What about those of us who self injure when we stim and have angry explosive meltdowns? Who are occassionally too blunt and too withdrawn and rude and offputting?

I'm not saying it's your job to deal with all of that. It is also on us to try to manage and control our own behavior. But it just seems to me like everyone wants nuerodivergent pride until we do something you don't like. Until we start acting "scary".

Autism acceptance means you accept all of us. Those of us who are non verbal, semi verbal, have high support needs or "inconvenient" symptoms. Those of us who aren't palatable.

Sometimes I put my face up against my dog while he's sleeping to feel his little lungs expand and his little heart beat and I am struck by the beauty of of life and the miracle of nature to evolve for thousands of years just to create one little guy and put him in my house

biggest mindfuck is the fact that it can be so so difficult to tell the difference between when it's time for "do it bored/scared/stupid but by jove just do it" and when it's time for "if it sucks hit the bricks"

editing is so fun. I'm learning what the story I wrote is about

sometimes after you learn what your story is about, you resolve to write a thematically appropriate sequel. this, unfortunately, means you have another section to edit, and now your story means two things. maybe more. imagine.

This post understands editing like nobody else. Everybody else delete your blogs. I want to be alone with OP so we can talk.

It's a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won't be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It's a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It's a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don't aim so high that you won't be hitting anything!

this is actually really helpful and affirming thanks

I need more films and TV shows to be plotted and written by people who like the characters/show/franchise/etc that they're writing for. Media that is created by people who love it is so tangibly different to media that's created by someone who is ambivalent or hostile towards what they're creating. And I'm so fucking fed up with media being created by people who hate what they're making.
