WTTT Week - Day 4: Weird Laws “Animals”

Imagine getting pulled over on a horse lol apparently it’s illegal to go over 10 mph on a horse

I don’t have a name for the horse sorry also I apologize if the horse looks fucked up I have to relearn how to draw them every time I try. Ok imma go pass out now love y’all ;D

Alaska and North Dakota

Moving on! Alaska and North Dakota are one of my favorite pairs(either platonic or romantic). They take long walks through the snow, and both enjoy the coldness with one another 🥀

Weird Laws

Gov didn’t follow up on everything the states did, but whenever one of them got arrested he usually wanted to know why. This time there was a newer face in his office, “How did you end up in jail on Saturday night, just explain one more time.” 

South dakota sighed, “I wanted a quesadilla, we didn’t have any shredded cheese, there was only bricks and I was not grating cheese at two am” 

“I got all that,” Gov sighed, “How exactly did you get pulled over?” 

“I was drunk driving” 

“South! I am disappointed in–” 

“Calm down, it was a tractor, those things barely hit twenty-five” 

Gov blinked a few times, “driving a tractor drunk is against the law?” 

“Driving any farm equipment on a public road while drunk is against the law, we’ve all tried with something” 

Despite better judgement Gov asked, “define ‘we all’” 

“All the Midwest states” 

Gov sat there for a long moment doing a mental tally of all the times a Midwest state had come through with driving related infractions, wondering now how many of those weren’t in cars. Maybe he didn't want to know.

…This turned out way more cheesy than I intended. I know it reads as romantic but that’s not * necessarily* my intention. I go back and forth between them being lovers and like…queerplatonic life partners, whatever that means to you. I personally don’t think they ever define their relationship; content to just be “them.”

WTTT Week day 3: Table History

These remaining ones will probably be posted a day late because I’m busy lately🙃

I went with state abbreviations for this one. The two-letter state abbreviations which we use today were standardized in the 1960s…at least according to this wikipedia article…although the source that it cites for that is a dead link 😐 well…at least it sounds believable. Here’s a little comic about what I imagine went down when the states were first choosing their abbreviations way back when.

My headcanon is that California is kind of scared of Louisiana. Not in a “omg he’s going to beat me up” way because obviously Cali is a lot bigger. He’s more scared of getting on his bad side because at all times he’s one mistake away from getting a rabid florida man sent after him.

WTTT week day 4 weird laws

Gov: Nevada ready to go over some of your weird laws?

Nev: ready as i'll never be

Gov: In Eureka it is illegal for men with mustaches to kiss women?

Nev: Didn't like it when I had to go through that so i spared everyone else

Gov: why is it Illegal to Ride a Camel on the Highway

Nev: blame Utah

Gov: ....i'm not gonna even ask- It's against the law to pawn your dentures?

Nev: yea so long story short this one old man back in the day tried to pawn his dentures at a pawn shop i worked at and like i told him they had no monetary value to us, but he kept coming back so much that i had to make it illegal

Gov: damn...he was really pushing it

Nev: you have NO IDEA

Gov: to end this meeting, Nevada I've always wanted to ask, why is there no lottery in your state

Nev:.......the casino industry

Gov: Ah rightttttt

Nev: i would have gone further with adding the lottery but I simply made gambling here too powerful

Gov: that and las vegas being las vegas

Nev: don't pretend you actually know me.

Nev: but yea
