I glance up at him, he was not looking at me, trying not to make eye contact, after what just happened in the room.
I felt my stomach do somersaults when he licks the ketchup off his fingers. I looks away, not wanting to get caught staring at him.
I hate him I hate him I hate him.
Aarna. Don't forget what he did to you. And to your father. You can't just look at him like you are deeply in love with this psychotic person who didn't even hesitate to kill people if he wants something from them.
He clears his throat, asking for attention as I looks at him, he was sitting accross to me.
"We have to attend an event today. At 6pm. Be ready."
"We?"
"Can't let you stay alone in here."
I didn't say anything else, I know why can't he let me stay alone.
He didn't want me to ran away... Or escape. He wants me to be in his watch 24/7.
He sigh before getting up and left, as I reluctantly stood up, walking out of the dining room as well.
The thing which was making me feel surprised is that he didn't stopped me this time when I tried to roam around the mansion.
~
(Time skips, at the event.)
I looks around the people which are gathered in the massive hall. I subconsciously gripped his arm tightly as he shows his fake smile to the the unknown person he was talking to.
All the people who are here are upto no good and I could feel myself feeling suffocated because of the way people are looking at us. At him. And at me.
He leans in, his voice raspy and deep making me shiver as he whispers in my ear.
"Stay by my side. People are here dangerous."
I nods in response before I felt his hand grasping my hip almost pulling me close to him. I felt my heart skip a beat on that gesture as I try to control my breathing.
"What a pleasant surprise."
I heard a familiar voice from behind us. We turn around as we saw Vanessa Knight, with her husband. Theodore Roosevelt.
"Wish I could say the same, Vanessa."
I hear Niccolai responding to her. I gulps, noticing that how Theodore just clenched his jaw on Niccolai's reply, but stayed quiet when Vanessa looked at him. With a reassuring smile.
"How are you? Aarna?"
She asks, softly, and I know why she asked that. I looks away, not wanting to reply.
"I'm fine. And you?"
"Very well." She says, smiling. I felt so suffocated when I looks around as I looks at Niccolai. He raises his brows.
"I need to use the washroom." I whispers as he thinks a little before nodding slightly.
"Go, but I swear if you go somewhere else I won't be responsible for my actions."
He warns as I nods, directly walking towards a hallway, asking the waiter for the directions. He told me directions as I entered in the washroom, which was surprisingly empty. I looks at myself in the mirror.
My face was pale, but I'm still looking... good. I guess.
I can't do this anymore... This is... so wrong.
