It's been a month since I have escaped from his territory, but somehow I always see myself thinking about him. Or what he must be doing right now.
I don't know why I'm thinking about him so much recently. It's like he is rent free in my mind. The things he had said to me when we were together.
The things we did.
I shakes my head at the thought of those things.
Even in my dreams, I have seen him in them, it's happening through this whole week, sometimes, it's a good memory sometimes its the worst.
Like the time when he beheaded a guy infront of me. It still send shivers down my spine and make me jump out in fear whenever that memory comes in my mind.
I can't get myself to forget it.
I sigh and opens my eyes and stares at the ceiling. I don't know how to feel and what's the point of living like this now.
I hear a soft knock on my door, as I sit up.
"Come in..."
I says politely as Martha enters. An elderly, kind and helpful woman who helped me at that day.
I thought I was about to get caught again but she came in the view, and offered to help me, now I'm at her house. She have a twenty year old son too, his name is Alex. He lives here too, I met him and he is sweet to say the least.
"How are you feeling sweetheart?"
She asks in her soft voice as it made me remember my mom's voice. Her voice is similar to my mom's and it's somewhat makes me emotional sometimes when I think about it too much.
"Just... fine."
I replies and she offers me a slight reassuring smile, I smiles back. In this whole month I have grown used to of her caring side. Like the warmth she provides. It's just... so motherly.
Something which I craved from childhood. I don't want to be seen like a desperate fool but I love when this woman comforts me and treat me like her own child, although we just met a month ago.
"Today, I saw some guards on a convience store. They had your picture with them, and they were asking about your whereabouts from the staff."
She suddenly says as I felt fear creeping in my body once again. I looks at her almost suddenly.
"Don't worry, it's a good thing you haven't been going out, or else you would have been caught. They are searching for you."
She informs as I nods, but I feel thankful that they haven't find a clue about me yet.
"You are safe here."
She reassures before patting her hand on my shoulder in a comforting manner. I smiles slightly.
"Thank you..."
"No problem, sweetheart."
I sigh in relief, I thought she would tell me to leave when I told her the truth, about me and what had happened with me in these past years. I had told her about the things Niccolai had done to me, and how dangerous he is. But she refused to let me go and provided me comfort.
Humanity is still alive.
I thought she will tell me to leave because how I'm somehow connected with Niccolai. But Martha knows him. It's not surprising tho, since he is famous for his position of being a CEO in his Multi - Billionaire company, Rose.up.
"I don't know what you are thinking, but you should take some rest."
She says and gives me her one of the reassuring smiles before leaving the room, giving me some privacy.
I sigh, I feel useless at this moment too. Nothing to do and Martha won't even let me help her. I get under warm blankets again, letting out one more sigh of content as I closes my eyes, trying my hardest to shut this brain off.
