The opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) remains the most popular party in Yle's monthly party support poll and has increased its lead over the National Coalition Party, in second place.
The Finns Party's support continues to decline.
SDP support rose 1.7 percentage points compared to the previous party support poll, published in October. Backing for the NCP fell 1.2 percentage points and the Finns Party lost a percentage point.
Research Director Tuomo Turja said that the background data showed the direction voters were moving in.
"Traditionally the SDP steals voters from other red-green parties, but now it looks as though their new supporters are coming from the Finns Party and partly from the NCP," said Turja. "There is a clear difference from the previous poll in that those who did not vote in the previous election are clearly more likely to voice support for the SDP than in previous polls."

Government support slump
At 42 percent, the combined support for the government parties (NCP, Finns Party, Christian Democrats and Swedish People's Party) is lower than at any point since Prime Minister Petteri Orpo (NCP) took office last year.
His government is less popular than that of any of the last three prime ministers at a similar stage in their tenure.
The Christian Democrats and Swedish People's Party saw their support remain at a similar level to the previous poll.
According to Turja, a portion of NCP voters said that they do not know which party to vote for now. They have switched allegiance to the SDP, the Greens, the Centre Party and towards abstaining.
"The National Coalition is losing women, older people and highly educated voters," Turja explained.
The Finns Party's support was 15.7 percent in the poll, compared to 20.1 percent in the last parliamentary election. The decline from the previous poll was one percentage point.
"Traditionally Finns Party supporters abstain in polls when the party's support drops," said Turja. "It is also visible that Finns Party support is draining away to the SDP, the NCP and the Centre."
The Centre Party recorded support at 13 percent — the same level as earlier in the autumn.
The Left Alliance remained static at 9.3 percent, despite the change in leadership from Li Andersson to Minja Koskela. She took over on 19 October, during the 7 October-5 November polling period.
The Greens saw a small 0.4 percentage point increase in support.
