The OP financial group’s website and mobile services could not be accessed for about three hours on Thursday afternoon and evening.

Disturbances were reported on the Downdetector service, which monitors the functionality of online services, starting at approximately 4:08 pm. By 5 pm, the service had received more than 4,500 error reports.

The website was still inaccessible after 5 pm, with a message saying: "This page isn’t working. www.op.fi redirected you too many times."

The mobile login froze for a moment, after which the message "Error. No connection to service" appeared on the user’s phone screen.

Around 5:30 pm, OP said that the problem was being fixed. The number of problem reports on Downdetector had dropped to just over 2,000.

Around 7 pm, OP reported that the problem had been resolved, saying in a social media post: "OP’s services have now returned back to normal. We apologise for any inconvenience caused for our customers."

The OP Group bills itself as Finland's largest financial group. The country's second-largest bank, Nordea, has suffered a long string of disruptions to its digital services this year.
