Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee has called an exceptional meeting for Friday, in response to damage to several crucial subsea cables in the Baltic Sea.
Parliament's Defence Committee is also meeting on Friday to discuss the same issues in the Baltic.
The Eagle S tanker, which is thought to be part of Russia's "shadow fleet" of sanctions-busting oil tankers, is suspected of damaging the Estlink 2 power line connecting Finland with Estonia.
In addition to the electricity link, damage to four telecommunications cables was discovered over the Christmas break.
