It feels like the film is both trying to tell me that the standards of beauty that women have are so oppressive that they drive people to harmful desperation and I should view the men who uphold them negatively. But also that demi moore/Margaret qualley are modern icarus flying to close to the sun and I should condemn them for their greed in wanting this beauty. These feel like an unintended contradiction, to which I ask hey what the hell is going on. The story didn't give me enough inciting events to justify this drastic of a leap.
This movie is very funny, but I was the only one in the theater laughing. Some neat cinematography tricks serve as a red herring for an ending that's more gut punching then the romcom it's trying to point us towards.
Very naturalistic almost voyeuristic quality to the mise en scen with everyone constantly yelling over each other.
Tarantino always does his best work when he's working in contradiction. Terrible murderers discussing the ethics of tipping minimum wage staff, or even who deserves a tip? Brilliant way to show that monsters are all around us. Ultimately using these contradictions to ask how far can we go to do the right thing, or how does our perspective define rightness?
To the young jewel thief mobster is perfectly justifiable (and fun) because he warned them not to press the alarm,…
The only person in this film who sounds like they've ever spoken English before is Adam Scott.
This film isn't even competently made the sound mix is awful, the camera people didn't know how to pull focus, ugh
This movie gets negative one stars
