Maybe a lil bit of a silly premise (if my friends did that to me I’d have fucking conniptions!!) but I can forgive a lot for the bucket loads of charm this film had to offer.
Sweet, funny and wholesome. Defo a good intergenerational watch, especially if you want to get a bit emo with your mam. Cute!

Ummmmmm okay it’s been a hot minute since I’ve left a film feeling so confused. That ending literally made me throw my hands in the air lol.
How was this such a nothing burger? Like it looked beautiful and the vibe was so nearly there. I think I liked bits and pieces, but ultimately this just felt like a clusterfuck of pretentiously poetic, cryptic vignettes. Fireballs of emotion appearing jarring in how unearned they felt.

Wow wow WOW I did not expect this to have me sobbing such big fat tears!!! What an unexpected gem to find at Flare.
A gorgeous story rooted in brotherhood and paternal trauma that’s presented so powerfully through a healing lens. While this takes you to the dark places of queer struggles in the 1970s, it does so in a way that feels authentic and human, and guides to a light at the end of the tunnel.
Beautifully acted by Alan Cumming and Charlie Creed-Miles who also have exquisite chemistry that creates some magical moments here - both comedically and emotionally. I bloody loved this!!
