The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love

This is the gayest movie I’ve seen and I love it!
It’s about two teenage girls from different backgrounds who fall in love.

I’m so used to watching Hollywood films where the two main characters look at each other across a room and instantly fall in love without knowing anything about each other that this movie seems radical in comparison. It’s a very realistic portrayal of teenage love that starts slow and becomes more intense. They fall in love through…

This is my comfort movie. I’ve watched it so many times. Barbara Stanwyck and Gary Cooper are adorable together! Stanwyck is so good at playing brash, street smart characters who end up having a soft heart. Her character is perfectly balanced against Cooper’s sheltered, naive professor. I love their “yum yum” scene. It’s so cute I could scream!

This movie also features some of the best working character actors of the time as the endearing, cloistered professors, affectionately referred to as, “squirrelly cherubs”. SZ Sakall is my favourite. Anytime I see him on screen I want to reach through it and give him a hug!

Outdated, but fun. I love it when Ginger Rogers plays the street smart best friend.

I was going to say this didn’t age well, but it seems no one liked it when it was released and I can understand why. Even Winona couldn’t save it.

It’s been years since I’ve seen So Long At The Fair, but it’s always stood out in my mind as an exceptional mystery. Unfortunately I didn’t get the thrill of uncovering the mystery again, since I still remember the plot. However, Jean Simmons’ strong performance as a woman being driven insane from being gaslit about the whereabouts of her brother, was captivating enough to make the rewatch enjoyable.

I finally watched Carrie for the first time. I was not prepared for how cheesy and also unhinged this movie was at the same time, holy shit! The way this movie vacillated between being overly sentimental to schlocky horror is incredible! I don’t understand how it ends up working.
