Exquisitely directed. This is a perfect example of a director who has a very clear vision and executes it with precision. All kinds of things happening here. Cronenberg, Carpenter, Eraserhead, Elephant Man, Carrie all had a party at the overlook hotel. That's what this feels like and I'm here for that. Lesson of the story; I guess we should love ourselves instead of trying to reinvent ourselves for the love and validation of others or else we'll become a never ending mutation of self hate that refuses to get off stage.
