  if you forget that tim burton directed and johnny depp acted in it, it's jarringly sweet and meaningful at points. also, the camp lands. is there 90's tranphobia/homophobia? yes. is it watchable and somehow an accidental time piece/commentary about an era of hollywood i don't fully understand but want to know more about and it makes me feel proud to learn of? also yes. surprisingly good. not sure what else to say besides yeah, i fuck with it. in my opinion it's burton's best piece and depp's best role

  fun 90s lesbian vibes but um... the transphobia jumped out on this one folks. i feel like the best case scenario is it was the 90s and they were trying to have conversations about identity that they didn't have the right words for but damn !!! it was rough. also, did this movie single-handedly invent u-hauling ?
