What the hell did I just watch? I know this is a sequel but I doubt the first episode would've provided me context to see anything more than a string of random acts, mostly very violent. All characters are strange caricatures of human beings, lead by a complete fucktard abusing every woman in sight, because yeah, it's hard to miss that one. And indeed, now that I've read some analysis about how this is supposed to comment on gender roles…

I take that Akın is angry. The German debate about integration and the influx of people from “different cultures” is probably quite like ours in the Netherlands and it stinks like everything in this film. The arrogance of the whole demand for “integration” and the orientalism this implies. In this film the peculiarities of the Greek neighbours of the protagonist seem a slice of paradise compared to the picture of the “superior culture” of booze, sex and violence Akın paints of German/western society, as he dares you to look in this vile mirror.
And he didn't even have to make it up.
