What starts out as a bloody and rather silly horror comedy loses its way in the second half as the narrative falls a little flat and it gets a bit samey. A stronger cast might also have helped as star Theo James feels overwhelmed here in dual roles. But the film offers plenty of violent, gore-soaked fun for fans of horror comedies assuming they don't have sky-high expectations.

It's not perfect but Dev Patel's directorial debut is a blisteringly angry action film that offers viewers something a little different. With nods to the likes of 'John Wick' and 'Enter The Dragon', the film is a brutal and bloody revenge thriller that offers a thrilling blend of bone-crushing action, political commentary and a leading man showing us a new side to himself.

One of Pixar's more imaginative efforts, the film's technical prowess feels lightyears ahead of the likes of the first 'Toy Story'. The story is inventive, the characters are likeable and memorable and the presence of young Boo is one of the most charming animated characters you're ever likely to see. A great film that viewers of all ages will enjoy.

A visually stunning, genuinely disturbing and utterly heartbreaking contemporary fairy tale that overcomes any language barrier with its remarkable effects and compelling performances. For my money, it's the best fantasy film I've seen since I first saw Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings trilogy more than twenty years ago. Brilliant stuff!
