so my name is Benton which is basically pronounced the same as Ben 10 and I was 10 years old when this came out. 4th grade lunch consisted of "oh HEY BEN TEN! Where's your ~WATCH~, BEN TEN??? HaHAaHAaHA are you an ALIEN, BEN TEN??? aHaha" This lowkey made my life hell but also gave me hella middle school clout because a movie was named after me so that was like totally sick. Was it worth it? Where would my life be without Ben 10? Is the movie 5 stars? Is my life 5 stars? idk this is kindof an existential crisis I-

This was the film that got me into movies on a level deeper than just popcorn entertainment or as a substitute for my parents babysitter. It showed me the true potential of film to challenge and surprise the viewer.

As a kid, my parents started by introducing me to the movies they grew up with, and eventually the recently released and now classic movies of the Disney Renaissance. I grew up with the Lion King, Aladdin, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, etc.…

Barely a movie but also genuinely quite funny at times in a “so bad it’s good” sense. The film is very experimental and voyeuristic, capturing an intimate sexual relationship between the director and star while adding in some absurd comedy and horror elements, but it ventured a little too far into the sexual side of things for my liking. It is at its best when it’s trying to be funny not when it’s softcore pornography under the guise of “art”. I…

The Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh

    ★★★½

Style over substance for sure, but occasionally an intriguing take on masochism, domestic abuse, and relationship violence. These weighty themes are wrapped in with your typical Giallo fare that serves as a distraction so the viewer doesn't have to think too hard. Sleek presentation, bohemian society, trendy fashion and design, free sex, graphic violence, etc; all of these genre trappings stand out more than any artistic statement. Sergio Martino is definitely one of the best directors of the genre, oozing confidence and not making obvious editing mistakes, but there is also an inherent ceiling for any Giallo film that this doesn't rise above.

    Am I Racist?

Wildly funny but equally cringe. I was kindof exhausted by the end to be honest, but I enjoyed it for the most part. The narrative structure wasn’t very strong and this isn’t nearly as thought-provoking as “What is a Woman.” There is zero nuance, of course, but some of the stuff that people were saying on camera was insanely funny. Matt Walsh has definitely cemented himself as the right wing Michael Moore, so people will either love him or hate his guts.

    Who Is Luigi Mangione?

Clearly rushed to get this thing published without any regard for quality. Even in an exploitative genre, this feels devoid of value. Also, the Mangione fandom is highly cringe.
