It's a testament to how great this is that it's probably nearly 40 years since I last watched it, and there are entire scenes that I still remember shot for shot.

I also don't think I've ever seen a full-length movie that flies by this quickly. And it just looks spectacular, plus the songs are great.

DePalma's storytelling is just so efficient and so visual. The whole experience is joyous.

Mounting a serious challenge to Die Hard for top Christmas movie.
Settling down with the extended family after Christmas dinner and in need of some respite? Maybe suggest this as an alternative to Love, Actually. The grandparents will love it...

I'm really not getting the love for this film. It's one of the worst movie experiences I remember having. I didn't care about any of the characters. I actually felt like giving up on it as we reached the final tie break - but I stuck with it because there were only five minutes to go. But that turned out to be just another five minutes of my life I'll never get back...
I love Zendaya - Greatest Showman, Euphoria, Dune.... All wonderful.
    But this is just terrible.....

Lots of people seem to like it, though, so what do I know?

There's actually only one thing bad about watching this film - and that's the fact that you'll never experience seeing it for the first time again....
    See it in a cinema!

Having said that, on second viewing there is so much more to take in that it's doubly rewarding. All that foreboding and threatening darkness is there from the get-go, and it all feels much more serious and much less whimsical.

This is a piece of art about art itself,…
