Shadow of a Doubt 1943
Serial Killers are supposed to be meticulous. Calculating their every move with precision so as not to get caught. It is a little laughable to see Uncle Charlie making some really dumb decisions along the way (giving the niece, Young Charlie, a ring that belonged to a woman, his latest victim, being the first one). Or perhaps it is Uncle Charlie's arrogance and his over-confident self that made him belief, countryside naivete will not be able to permeate his secret.
Perhaps because of this aspect in Uncle Charlie's character, it was less enjoyable for me than many of Hitchcock's other films.Translated from by

Sam Hargrave did a better job directing an action film in his debut film Extraction than the Russo brothers did with more experience in the genre.
I could not root for the characters. The action sequences were not clearly defined, so it just didn't matter what was happening. There were some very unnecessary sweeping drone movements during the action sequences that took me out of the movie (that I wasn't already into).
One thing that I have to acknowledge is that Ryan Gosling has terrific comic timing.Translated from by
