I was impressed at how the movie managed to tell it’s story with such little dialogue. Stunning cinematography that made good use of the scenic location and the score was simple but effective, adding a lot to the unsettling tone. There was enough mystery to keep me intrigued throughout and a number of scenes put me in a trance. It was an atmospheric movie with some subtle but haunting imagery.

Overall it’s a commendable feature debut from Lukas Feigelfeld, I’m looking forward to whatever he’s got planned next

This movies is about as realistic as you can get, the dialog in particular feels so natural. Outstanding performances from everyone, especially Ray Winstone and Kathy Burke.

The way this is filmed adds to the grittiness.  Instead of perfect framing it’s shot almost like a documentary with a hand-held, adding to the kitchen-sink realism. Nil by Mouth is so un-relentlessly bleak, set in a gloomy east London estate where there is not a single moment of sunshine, just grey skies and…

This really is the craziest movie I have ever seen, to call it bizarre is an understatement. I was not expecting it to be as fast paced or as comical as it was.

Overall it’s well made with lots of stunning sets and surreal imagery, from the use of the camera, the sound design, the practical effects and although it is dubbed, it suits it perfectly.

The Holy Mountain is enough to not only shock anyone, it shows a completely different approach to filmmaking all together.

I’d highly recommend it to anyone interested in movies.
