"Before the law, you need some ass-whooping."

Three movies in and you know the drill: fools cause trouble so Ma Seok-do has to crack some skulls. It’s a recipe for success, really.

Me, having only seen Pine Barrens: “Getting a lot of Pine Barrens vibes from this.”

Occasionally pretty funny, Mikey is great, and the ending is powerful. I just think a concept like this (whirlwind romance leads to hi-jinx) needs a tighter runtime.

The script tries to do way too much and its inability to stick to a lane leads to a slightly disjointed and unfocused feel. But strong direction, impeccable visual effects and production design, and Pattinson's performances manage to elevate the whole affair.

For a good chunk of this, Petersen is dressed like Sylvester Stallone in Cobra.

A crime thriller that feels tailor-made for me for the following reasons: a plot where things constantly go wrong, practical effects, a car chase, and Willem Dafoe. Feels like the perfect marriage between the French Connection and Michael Mann.
