Timmy was great (and much of the rest of the cast) and I was quite impressed by the shots of him playing music. A great film to take your dad to. Nevertheless I think I left knowing less about Bob Dylan than when I arrived.
Pamela Anderson is absolutely phenomenal in this somewhat tragic story on stardom, ageing and motherhood, and the costumes and shots of Las Vegas are stunning. That being said, the really tight framing in the first part of the film was a bit stress-inducing (for no apparent reason) and a lot of the shots have a really short depth of field, so much of the background looks intensely blurry. Also some crazy film grain, which looked pretty but was almost distracting at times. And the story could have been developed a bit more. Can’t believe Pam wasn’t nominated for an Oscar…
fell asleep for a little bit so not qualified to give a star rating, but this film is great fun, classic almodovar. when I was 14 years old my mother had an anaphylactic reaction to nuts in Paris and we had to take a taxi to hospital, and she later described the taxi driver as ‘out of an almodovar film’ so it was good to finally see this.
fun, stupid, sexy, what more could you want? Also some great cinematography and sound design.
