Tonally a disaster, thematically a disaster, logistically a disaster, and almost all of the performances (outside of Denzel) were a disaster. One of those films where you just have to question where did it all go wrong? Also has some of the most incongruent use of music I have ever seen put to film. Mr. Washington literally carries this to a 2.5 for me with addition to the pure absurdity of it all, which I found at least a little entertaining.

Pig 2021
I enjoy movies that are simple and honest. It’s been a while since I’ve experienced a film that boasts so much of these qualities, but Pig certainly hits that mark for me. I could go on to write about how Michael Sarnoski’s debut feature is an obvious twist on the typical revenge story, but it is honestly so much more than that.

An impressive exercise in comedic set piece and design, physical expressive acting, and early-cinema visual trickery. Chaplin spectacularly pushed the medium forward, and his influence goes well beyond the realm of comedy.
