  Really the only kind of love story I can tolerate anymore is one that is agnostic about the existence of romantic love altogether. I’m not sure it needed to be as long as it is—it started to lose me like 2/3 of the way thru but got me back—but I could also read it as part of the thrust of the movie, that life is long and sometimes boring and where you end up has little to do with intention. Also, I’d let Renate Reinsve hit me with a bus.
