Nothing I could say about this movie would capture the experience of watching it. Going in I knew nothing about this history behind the film but still was able to grasp the meaning, a testament to the power of this movie. I’ve never seen anything like this before and while I think I might never again, I hope that I do.

The House That Jack Built 2018
Thoughtful and contemplative, perfectly adapts the style of philosophical dialogues to film. unflinchingly horrifying, disturbing, and cruel, toeing the line between perverse gratuity and critical realism. Masculinity, whiteness, power, and evil, Jack embodies all these traits and does so with an ego large enough to fill a two and a half hour run time. This movie is gonna stay in my mind for a while, specifically Verge/Virgil’s line to Jack that he “reads Blake how the devil reads the Bible”.
