Generally cosy and chilled even though it is apparently set against an eco-disastrous backdrop… It’s a simple film so there is not much I could say that wouldn’t spoil it so I won’t. The cat is adorable. The animation is incredible and the way the world is right now, it is nice to get a break from humans.

Cool production design and a promising premise but the satire is soft and obvious. The aim is to entertain rather than make you think too much… The balance between farcical comedy and dystopian themes reminded me slightly of Dr Strangelove but it is definitely not on that level at all… Mark Ruffalo more or less reprises the buffoon he played in Poor Things… There are some genuinely funny moments, it looks great and I really liked the concept of 3D printing humans but overall it’s kind of sci-fi lite. I had hoped for more to be honest.

I never watched this until now as I believed critics’ views that it was best avoided… It pretty much has all the elements to make it a cult classic though - OTT performances, irreverence 😳, weirdness, grossness, some hilarious moments, a cool soundtrack… If Danny Peary ever writes volume IV of his cult movie books (amazing books btw), this could well be featured… It is probably not for everyone but if you grew up with Tom Green, I’d say give…

I grew up watching Tom Green so this doc made me feel nostalgic for the edgy and lo-fi kind of TV there used to be… mainly a career recap, this documentary gets more interesting and personal as it develops… revealing an interesting and surprisingly sensitive character underneath his performative persona… worth a look. (Side note: I have never seen Freddy Got Fingered… might give it a chance after seeing this… wish me luck with that.)
