Clusterfuck of a movie, funny tho
Updated review after a nights sleep: Andy Samberg is so good, he brings his SNL/Brooklyn-99 energy to this role without being overbearing. That’s paired very well with Cristin Milioti to make serious moments ridiculous and vice versa. Good to know that there’s quality comedies out there that I haven’t heard of.
Didn’t realize I had watched this at the same time last year but I have the same feelings towards it. Make a flawless character that’s easy to root for take on the bad guy, what more could I ask for. Pairing the right amount of Sci-Fi Marvel magic with some good old fashion war propaganda just makes me wanna run through a brick wall.
Had high expectations before watching this and it did not meet those expectations. I felt kinda bored with the plot until the last 30 or so minutes. Adam Sandler played a weirdly likable character even as a scumbag who was spiraling the whole time. Someone gratifying ending but I just wasn’t that entertained for some of this and I’m not a movie critic looking for the finer details to give a higher review. Adam Sandler plays his character very well but I’d rather watch Happy Gilmore.
