  "We're having an Abraham Lincoln party."

  One time a friend asked me to give some notes on a short film script he was working on. I recommended adding a sight gag about someone spilling a bag full of marbles, not because it was relevant but just because I thought it was fun. This is a real "bag of marbles" movie and I mean that in the best way possible.

  "This is not the time to show temperament!"

  This movie doesn't shut out the outside world entirely, but I love how close it comes. This isn't a film about adversity or struggle, it's a portrait of gay spaces, queer fun, pageantry, socializing. It allows for lightness, never stresses its own importance, and just lets these people enjoy each other's company.
