  A couple of misses in a row from our man Schrader after the career best work he was doing in First Reformed and The Card Counter. A few interesting ideas and moments here, I guess. They never really come to anything, but I do appreciate that he's always trying to say something big in his films, even if it doesn't always work out.

  Great concept, great Pattinson performance, but a lot of the humor, dialogue, and a few of the characters felt pretty Marvel-y. Thankfully, unlike Marvel movies, it had a real director (one of the best in fact) with a real vision and beautiful production design, but it still left me a little disappointed.

  The satire and especially Ruffalo's performance was fun at first but really got grating as it dragged on.

  Maybe my expectations were too high and I'll like it better on a rewatch.
