    Another addition to the ‘Netflix Series I’ll never watch or think about again’ category.

    An interesting case brought down by trite, narratively confused and dull direction.

    Every twist feels manipulative and laboured, and the constant jumping between perspectives feels unnecessary and at points confused. Instead of letting us navigate the ambiguities of the case ourselves, as a good courtroom drama should, we are told what/who to believe and when. Not a fan!

    Devastating end to the Highlands trilogy. This doc has the unfortunate task of portraying grief, death and despair, but handles these topics sensitively. 

    I do wonder if this trilogy portrays Joe Leahy a bit too sympathetically. Though clearly determined and charismatic, his hubris and self-interest are slightly glossed over. Is it not his unrealistic promises, failure to anticipate risks, and greed in the early days of the Kilima plantation that damage his relationship with the Ganiga people?
