  reminded me of some of the euro twee shit of the 90s and early 2000s, like city of lost children. Maybe some Roy Andersson. Emma stone is amazing, love dafoe, but idk the jokes only hit me half the time and while I love the audacity there is easily an extra half hour in here. still, the Frankenstein Buddha plot is pretty cool, and I love the set-y sets.

  Rachel Amodeo’s WHAT ABOUT ME is a classic 90s New York indie. Like STRANGER THAN PARADISE it’s shot in grainy b&w, like RHYTHM THIEF it has a playful, meandering structure, and like SMITHEREENS it’s packed with CBGB musicians (Dee Dee Ramone! Richard Hell!
