  (Santa Claus: The Movie (1985) is the only other movie I know Dudley Moore from, so all the jokes & references to Christmas made me chuckle.)

  Everything about this is aggressively 1981 and I love that about it—especially the music cues. Arthur himself is… too much for me, but I get why this was a hit.

  It’s a real shame that there isn’t film of the full French and American presentations, not that I think I’d want to sit through whatever it is the French were doing that day.

  It's been a good 20 years since I saw this and I did not remember the synth-tastic score (for the U.S. release) nor the 20-minute introductory scroll at the beginning. Wowzers.
