I enjoyed this movie a lot more than I thought I would. The legacy actors were great, the new leads did fine and it brought back fond memories. I hope they continue making these movies. One thing I did learn, if you get stabbed in the gut, just rub a little dirt on it, you'll be fine. Lead players don't need ambulances.

I really liked this film. It's always fascinating to see another cultures mythology, their ghosts and monsters and what it is that scares them. The acting was strong and the supernatural entities as well as the real life horror they experienced was very effectively portrayed. I gained a real emotional attachment to the lead characters and hoped they would survive intact. Hopefully, a side effect of this movie will be that those who see it will maybe be a little more sympathetic to the plight of those who are torn from their homes and forced to relocate to a strange and foreign place.

Apart from the disappointment of not being able to see this on the big screen and a heavily underutilized Betty Gilpin, (She should have been the one kicking some alien butt), this movie checked all the boxes for a big summer blockbuster. The alien design was horrifying, the action pretty much nonstop and the cast played their parts well, especially Sam Richardson who was terrific in Werewolves Within. Definitely worth a watch.
