Captain America: Brave New World 2025
Black Captain America probably deserved a better script and Anthony Mackie definitely deserved a better script for his first lead role. There are some fine performances in Captain America: Brave New World, but the actors are working with lines like “Are you crazy Sam?! You’ll be killed!”

The Social Network 2010
The Social Network is better now than when it came out. The distance of time has made it into less of a novelty and just a fascinating movie. The closing line of dialog delivered by Rashida Jones is more powerful and relevant today than ever, “You’re not an asshole, Mark. You’re just trying so hard to be.”

Nosferatu 2024
I couldn’t help but compare this version of Nosferatu with the inventiveness and originality of the 1922 original or with the rich in tapestry of Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Although much of this movie is beautifully shot and full of dread, it compares poorly to the other two movies. Nosferatu drags a bit early on, but picks up nicely late in the film when a gloriously unhinged Willem Dafoe appears.
