  so this was FAR better than i was expecting. i assumed part of the reason it wasn’t getting distribution was it wasn’t good enough to be worth the legal fight with trump but this just makes that seem even more cowardly because it’s a legitimately good movie. 

  sebastian stan gives an incredible performance. this would be a great double feature with FRESH, another movie where he starts off charming before he’s revealed to be a psychopath. 

  i wanted more of jeremy strong as roy cohn, so hopefully he does ANGELS IN AMERICA someday.

  Stray thoughts:
  -Cesar is so clearly a “tormented genius who strives to create utopia” stand-in for FFC that later in the film when he announces that if he has a son, they’ll name it “Francis,” my entire theater burst out in scream-laughs.  
  -Nathalie Emmanuel is given absolutely nothing to work with as the female lead so I can’t fault her too much, but she also slips into a 1940s screwball “New Yawk” accent like every 20 minutes and I…
