  Someone fist fights a werewolf. A werewolf shoots a gun. There is a misogynistic twist. The effects are pretty epic. I mean what else do you want from a 2002 film.

  The editing stood out a lot to me this time, it elides so much and that's pretty nice, it makes this feel different from a lot of other horror films.

  Is this musical good? Not really. But, frustratingly, there’s a lot of great elements in Spies Are Forever—a satirical musical that takes place during the transition into the information age, subverted with a queer narrative—but it doesn’t come together. The show feels sloppy and underbaked. I wish it took a more serious tone because the moments when it does are the best (“The Torture Tango” and the final confrontation for example).

  Sometimes I worry that my opinion will change rewatching movies I loved but this movie just grows on me more and more. It's so achingly romantic, beautifully made, and has a dreaminess that contrasts its moments of harshness.
