  I love a gloomy rural period piece with textured fabrics and grey skies and crunchy sound. I also think in this case it works really well with that certain type of contemporary(ish) editing's lack of expository rules, like a dream or memory.

  Ralph Ineson has an incredible face and voice.

  I had to show this to Matthew because I thought he would do hilarious impressions of the fight scene.

  It was really cool on second watch, though, to see just how meta this film is -- a film about its own analysis, and the question of analysis and interpretation in general. Coetzee vibes. Also in the way that every character is articulate and intelligent, and has thoughts on the nature of truth.
