  this was very visually striking; though kind of uneven narratively, there are things that work really well, others not so well, but the movie ended up managing to chart its own identity as a distinct Beauty and the Beast take

  Hopkins is fantastic as the hypnotic Hannibal Lecter in this. And so is Jodie Foster as Clarice in this. A young woman with a joyful attitude that gradually reveals an intricately motivated and deeply traumatized child.

  Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 2024

  Pretty good. It's lighter on action in the third act than the modern trilogy that you'd expect and is a bit long. But, it lets you sink into its world, takes the time to develop and give you time with its characters. It is also quite pretty most of the time (I think my only complaint is that sometimes the daytime forest scenes less colorful that you'd hope).
